| Well i was trying to pull the wheels off my boys mower today. One came off easy and the other is rusted pretty good on the shaft. While i was attempting to get the stuck wheel off by way of big hammer the other shaft came loose. I could pull it right out and put it back in. I pulled the trans out and pulled it apart. What i found was the clip that holds the shaft in broke from me beating on the other side. So this is what im going to do, i am going to just weld the gears on both shafts on. I think i am just going to weld up the diff also. This hydro trans is super simple, two gears, four bearings, and the diff with shafts. The hydro unit come off in one piece. This trans is a Spicer 4900-3 | |

| Hell of a lot simpler than they hydro I pulled off my Snapper.
Fearlessfront welds his gears onto his shaft ends. Its a good idea considering the clips arent that durable. I forgot to weld mine on when I had my Peerless apart, really hoping it doesnt come apart! | Yeah fearless front does the same MAKE SURE TO KEEP THE WIRE SPEED LOW AND THE THE WELD HOT! If not the weld wont penetrate the metal and the weld it's self will interfere with the gears. | |
