PostSubject: broke my extened axles   broke my extened axles Icon_minitimeThu Jan 03, 2013 4:57 pm

I recently finished my racing lawnmower that I extended the axles on but I went for a test drive and after hitting lots of bumps I noticed my weld broke and my axle wasnt strait any more. What is an easy way to re aline it?

Its best to have a one piece rear axle - mainly for strength, balance and no weak points - plus if it was welded off a bit itll be all wobbly.

If it needs to be extended- id run another piece of heavier pipe across the whole axle ( cept where the tire mounts) , drilling holes in the sleeve to plug weld it - it still wont be as strong as a single piece, but will hold up better.
