This is my entry for the 2024 build off! The plan is to take this 1 by 1 angle iron and make a custom frame that fits the craftsman gen 2 body panels. I will make this a lowered build, either fliping the transaxle or making a jackshaft out of a lawn mower spindle. I will pull the trans out of my old craftsman mudder, and use the pictured 12 hp engine. I will also be using other parts of the craftsman to, like the front tires off it are going to be the backs.

Ok, I will get pictures later, but I have started work on it! Due to complatcations and difficulty I have decide not to lower it, instead I took a craftsman frame and am putting the transaxle and motor ( I found an 11 hp that I got by trading a buddy for my oppy) and then I will do all the mods needed to turn this thing into a right bussin rally mower. I will still call it the lawn dart btw.

We have a roller! I have the engine and transaxle on it, belt setup and frame panels! As you can see this is without the rear body panel.. Close up of the belt&cluth setup, and the direct steering I made yesterday, I just need to add the handle bars to the shaft. Before and after exhast job..
and finally with rear body panel and seat.

Looking good dude! Lots of room for a front pulley swap too which is great! You and I will have to have a virtual race when we're done with our rockets! Lol

We are both in Ontario, this summer we might go to Hawk's Nest.

Ok, sorry for the long time no update, first things first, we have handle bars! Sorry bout the terrible quailty pictures, I didn't use the dslr this time. I got it running, the carb bowl had to be soaked in vinegar, and the rest had to be sprayed with brake clean. I haven't done the wiring yet, so that is the next thing, however I test drove it by starting it with booster cables to the starter, and found it way to slow, only goes like 25 kmh. also the tiny pulley in the front causes way to much slip, making it almost undrivable. The rear pulley was welded by my brother, He welded it crooked so that has to be replace. The belt guards I made kept the belt on for the 2 hour test drive, so that is awesome! So it now needs: -Bullbar -higher pulley swap -wiring -tires -testing -brakes -some type of throttle on the handlebars. -maybe speakers, lol. On a side note, those handle bars are awesome for racing around the field/lawn!

Looking good, I would suggest a pad of some sort where the handlebars comes together with the steering shaft. I remember back when I was a kid riding my bike how it would hurt hitting that spot. I quickly got a handlebar pad for that area. Can't imagine how it would feel going tractoring speeds, plus we aren't little kids anymore. LOL

Looks sweet! Digging the steering setup! To add the MightyRaze's comment, its true! Im a avid snowmobiler, and have a friend who unfortunately smashed some teeth out after bouncing off the middle of some handle bars. Quick cheap easy fix, is a pool noodle, or some pipe insulation taped around er!

I got the wiring started a couple days ago, Got the starter and kill hooked up, not much, but progress. I need to start thinking bout tires, I am hoping to find a good pair for 50 ish, or I will lug cut some. I have been driving it around the yard, and it handles better than the old red monster thingy, Probally due to less weight
