@Wheelinhorse (read this in a old fudd voice) hey boy I bet you're hands are soft and your jeans are too tight get you one of these 1911s because shooting twice is stupid. Haha im just messing with you im curious how do those hellcats run?
Hahaha! I carried the exact same model 1911 for a while, it was hot rodded pretty good and a nasty accurate shooter, but it kept pulling my pants down and sure as hell wasnt very concealable. Even tried a M&P shield in .45, no way I was getting more than 2 off with that before it was aimed at the clouds lol. The hellcat is awesome for EDC- lightweight, tiny, holds 11+1 and runs super accurate and reliable. A snotty little 'git off me' piece for sure.

FWIW: I would delete that reference, I am not going to say why, to avoid the thread showing up in a search engine watched by an alphabet. I had over 200+ sales on gun broker in two years from a sporting goods store inventory I bought and sold, which including long guns and pistols. So, I know a thing or two and some things you just should not talk about on any forum.
Just friendly $0.02 worth of advice from someone that has dealt with the people and things that run our reality.

@Crazy_Carl@TechnoChicken here you go at the end of the video when it shoots really fast that's called slam fire. that's where you hold down the trigger and as fast as you can pump the shotgun is as fast as it will shoot

Cool blaster. My first shotgun was an 50s Ithaca 37. Also slamfire capable. Picked up another early 60s unit that also can slamfire. Im not sure when they changed it so they dont slamfire, late 60s maybe? Its new enough to be able to use different barrels though, so I got the cheapest I could find and whacked it off at 18.5in.
Looks pretty good I think. Handmade shell holder. I forgot to burnish the edges of the shell loops. ooops.

Little gunsmiffin project I did. 40s Remington Fieldmaster pump action 22. Cool old gun, but it didnt always feed. Had to work the pump pretty hard and even then didnt always work.
Turns out the carrier was pretty well worn down Not the prettiest work, but a little bit of weld, and grinding got it working again.

I fixed this late 30s stevens receiver The spring that came with it was too long so I cut a couple coils off with a Dremel and it works great. Here's before And after Here's what was taken off After that the hammer would not fall all the way I figured out it was this bottom part of the hammer spring retainer. So i took a Dremel to it and ground it down and it works flawlessly also went ahead and took off the burr on the hammer spring retainer

Yea, I have been thinking about the 22/45, but, I hardly shoot anymore since I have not renewed by gun club or NRA memberships. I think I am going to eventually buy something big for hunting such as a 45/70 or magazine fed semi-auto 12 gauge. If only to have for deep woods treks.
The way the world is going, something useful against drones might be the best choice.

@TheBeal A wise man once said "Clearly I dont know what Im doing" I have a few homemade targets I'll show you when I get back from vacation. @JB_4x4 Generally speaking magazine fed shotguns aren't all that great in my experience although if you're dead set I would get a Genesis arms "GEN-12" if you'd be interested in anything else like a tube fed semi-auto I'd go for a Beretta 1301 I have a Stoeger 2000 and those things are great guns and you also can't beat the Simplicity of a Mossberg 590 or 500

Man that guy is just sooo smart. Wonder who he is.
Ive built a couple to hang steel targets. I guess they work well enough. Id like to build a plate rack, and some to hang paper for some more precise shooting.
Best picture I have at the moment. Used drill steels for the legs and a piece of 2in pipe across the top, and cheap hardware store hooks for the chain. Didnt do any planning, just shlapped it together, figured it didnt need to be too fancy.

I have no experience with them, though I have shot 100s through my Remington 870 12g. Which I like. My pain limit usually was a box of 25 slugs for a range trip. My wife has a Maverick 88 12g, which she has never fired ... The Remington was the 1st gun I ever owned.
The most accurate hand gun I had, which I sold because my wife would not be able to control it, was a Ruger 44 Magnum (Blackhawk?). I thought I was just a lousy shot with a pistol using my Ruger 944, 2nd gun I bought (.40 S&W), but, then I tried the .44 magnum revolver with the 44 special (180 gr) loads, I was nailing the target at almost 3x the effective distance of the Ruger 944 (25 yards). Even magnum loads were WAY more controllable and accurate the the 944.
The only gun I really regret selling was the Ruger Single Six (.22/.22 mag) in stainless steel with the 7" (6 5/8?) barrel. A bit slow loading at the range, but, totally pleasing to shoot and look at. I might buy another one some day if I get a bigger property.
