I found a troybuilt mower [22hp briggs 46 in cut] with peddle drive cruiss control....according to the numbers it is a 99 so 24 years old 50 years younger than me........I needed a project, yardwork got boring....
I have a new carb ordered, someone must have operated on it at one time [maybe quite a few times in all those years] and lost some parts.....
I just dropped the deck......... easy job......i hope all the rest of the fix goes that well....the blades are both loose, spindles seem pretty good and someone has changed the belt, it is in good shape.........
the steering gear is sloppy, so i am going after that next........I don't think it is much more than a bearing........
I haven't had a chance to push the peddle with the motor running,,,that's were the big bucks can disappear,,,,,i did engage the deck for 2 seconds those blades made a hell of a racket,,,,,,, thanks for all the help.........

nope......that's a strong arm actuator on the right side, along with my hammer handle brake lever .....I had a hard time getting to the brake from the go peddle, so I built a hand brake lever [it works pretty nice for me] the hammer was my wife's idea.......[I turn bowls and other stuff along with a few of these little hammers]....the hood was all that I got when i bought it ??........so I had to incorporate it .......I don't know if i want any other cover in the front ...I kinda like it this way........
