I am Will from just outside the
Twin Cities and recently was given what I believe is a Sears Custom 10E. My friend purchased a new house that came with a lot of storage sheds. This mower happened to be sitting in it and he said I could have it for free. After seeing tons of posts online of off-road mowers I figured this would be a great project for me.
The engine was completely locked up and the cylinder walls were very scarred up, bent valves and grooves on the cam. I happened to have a Kohler V-
Twin Command Pro laying around with 20 amp charging system and decided this would be the perfect candidate. I salvaged a suspension, spindles, hubs and brakes off a 98 Honda 2wd ATV. This is going to be used up front with a single seater UTV steering rack.
I have built multiple custom vehicles in the past (38 Ford Sedan Delivery, 37 Ford Coup, 47 Ford Convert, and currently restoring a 64 Corvette along with a 78 Honda CB750F) and this seemed like a fun side project to do. Below are some photos of the mower I am naming Ickx. Apart from the engine everything else is in great condition.
