Thanks guys, I went down to dads and did some machining I been putting off for a bit, since the front axle is wider I needed a wider tie rod and I had these trx90 tie rods and ends kicking around so I decided to use them that way I have a tight and a left so I can adjust the rod without unbolting it cut the tierod down to a 2 inch stub then drilled out the rod so they barely slip in.  Decided to get fancy and add some wrench flats to make adjusting it easier

Overall view before the flats
Wifey Deere - Page 2 Fdbae610

Close up, ended up pulling them back out and drilling for plug welds also just for some extra security

Wifey Deere - Page 2 9891b510

Last but not least, made some 1 inch to 3/4 adapters for the front spindles, so I can run 1 inch wheels on my 3/4 axle. Still need to make the stops and big heavy washer to bolt the wheels on but I didnt find any 1.5 stock at dads and I had some at my house but it was too late to go back and grab it

Been hard at in the garage big update for here I’ll try to get up as I get time today. Diddie yes having good tools makes a world of difference, I’ve been using my grandpas lathe and mill most my life but actually bought my own last year, just working on getting the building for them done so I can set em up. It’s been a life goal for awhile to own my own and I only have about 2200$ in the pair. I know people who spend that at the bar in a years time easy. Next tool I’m planing on buying is a concrete plasma setup like what grind hard uses but that will take me a couple years of saving to do.
Been working on getting full steering out of this, this was the first round which went good till I realized the Ackerman angles was wrong 😑

So back to the drawing board, used this aluminum square tube to help line up for proper Ackerman
Wifey Deere - Page 2 7a801710

Then used CAD (cardboard aided design 🤪) to help mock up the shape of the new arms

Wifey Deere - Page 2 97024610

Then made em in metal

Onto the brakes! The gokart band brake setup didn’t transfer over to the 820 well, mounting holes didn’t line up, (doh!)
Wifey Deere - Page 2 53805a10

But I made these brackets bolt on the back side so it all worked out

Wifey Deere - Page 2 E1482b10

The last time the brake linkage wasn’t adjustable which was a pain so I decided this go around the would be, so built this offset thing which will make sense here soon

Checking for clearance for the wrench, I’m bad about forgetting that you need a wrench of a socket to clear not just the bolt head 😅, but this tim I remembered

After a little shaping it looks like this
Wifey Deere - Page 2 Fd2cbe10

Next onto this, but what is it?

Wifey Deere - Page 2 A61e8f10

After playing around with the length got the shifter arm welded on the 820 shifter so that I can get in all the gears and they line up proper with the numbers on the shift gate.

Problem was there was more flex in the shifting assembly than I like, so that’s where the cube from last post comes in

Wifey Deere - Page 2 D39c7b10

I welded the cube on the old trans mount and used it to build a removable upper support for the arm, I didn’t get a picture but I made a steel bushing that bolts in the hole and the shifter arm pivots on it and greatly tighten the shifting up

Since I lifted this tractor 1.25 inches I needed to move the pulley up the same amount, so I cut the center out of the 820 factory pulley and welded it to the factory John Deere rear pulley with a 1/4 inch spacer to get the right height so I didn’t have to change the clutch mechanism

Nice work man! You're making good progress!

In case you didn't realize you can in fact attach more than 3 photos per post, what you do is "remove all" after you've  "inserted all" then add more, it's that's easy!

Keep up the great work!

I added some bracing to the front axle today that will double as a handy tie down point also if need be

Thanks mighty! I really appreciate it! Got some more work done, used the die you see in the back round to build these cups, I’ll explain the purpose later in another post

Wifey Deere - Page 2 4a393d10

And welded on the frame, welding gods was smiling on me for this

Wifey Deere - Page 2 3f4fe610

Little nut hidden on the backside, normally I bolt through the frame but there was stuff in the way where these needed to go.
