I see we went ahead and did the column too eh? I had one with a painted dash once. Is the body mounted now?
Did you replace them transaxle bracket bolts?
- Thank you. I wanted something a little different. Not done with the hood yet. Then there are STICKERS! LOL
- Yeah, thought it would be something different. Just did the outside part. Leaving the inside part back. Also, leaving the part with the switchs and throttles black as well. Yes the rear fenders are now mounted as well as lower tower.
- Yes, all 6 bolts replaced. I did also decide to do 6 good tack welds on the brackets too just to be sure all the shimmy was taken out of them.

| Maybe it’s the humidity where I live....I just can’t get my paint to dry as fast as you. My painted parts stay tacky for 2 days so it’s becoming a slower process to get things done. I been using rustolium also with a under coat of sandable primer. | |

| Maybe. Pretty humid here too this year. I have done this process.
After prep,
Paint Leave in direct Sun all day long to get super hot. (been in mid/upper 90's this week until today) Then I take it out of the Sun at the end of the day and let cool overnight. Leave out of sun until I paint next layer.

| Lots of planning and measuring tonight. Not much more. Did drain the oil from the engine after I discovered the carb let gas drain into the block. It had 2x the volume it should have had. The carb does have a rebuild kit on it now. This is approximation of where things will look later. EDIT: Before Pic. Sorry older pic, not many side shots with the original hood. | |

| Could you mount the seat lower by getting rid of the hinge and doing a different spring setup? Just trying to think of how to get it lower.
I really like the paint scheme you have going on the hood

I really like the paint scheme you have going on the hood Yeah, I haven't thought more on that right now, but I have thought of some changes to the seat. I am also eyeballing a set of tires that are like the rears on Kal that are only 19" tall as well. Thanks for the compliment on the hood!

| Back to those tires, I was super impressed with the ones on Kal's rear. I was starting to feel like superman in the mud at Haspin. I never had to back up and try again or try to wiggle my way out of any hole. The ones that I am eyeballing below. Just got to save some $$ first. | |

| Today was my wife's mom's birthday so not much done today. I was able to paint the dash this morning and that is about it. Oh, I have my new tail lights in, and I have installed a new better guage (+) battery wire as well. Also going to re-route the wire outside the frame-rail as the belt would rub it. Now with the 5/8 belt. I could guarantee it. The dash... only pic I took tonight.

| Worked from home today for work. Did a few things in my down times. Added a light on the dash to remind me the key is on: Lights Off <clap clap clap> Lights on. Most of the wiring is done. Just need engine connections and headlight/fog connections. I'll probably start focusing on the front end suspension build now. Supposed to finally cool down out of the 90's next week. | |

| I had a feeling you we're going for doubles... Not sure why. Either way it looks great. Reminds me of something, closest thing I can think of is the back of a semi-truck. Definitely more modern than them old ones.
I'd add some floorboard lighting, really helps you see at night as I'm sure you know since you have them on Kal.

| Looks like I have PLENTY of room to install a shock tower under the hood. I'll work on getting that done and the front axle hanging on the shocks. I seemed to have lost my 2 heim's I already had on hand for my panhard bar that I will be making. Then some links. | |

| You won't need that track bar with the super fancy triangulated 4-link setup you have planned. Really though, did you ever decide what link setup you plan to run? | I've had a lot of down time at work today to think and plan on this. I do not have any of the materials needed to make the suspension like you have on MTD. I do have plenty of material leftover from KAL to make another monolink. I will probably do that again. It has proven to be pretty reliable! Plus I it will give me more options to mount a rack. | |

| I had a little time to make a shock tower last night. Welded it together today. I think I have started figuring out the welder a bit more. Finally got it to not burn so hot melting my steel but still hot enough to get a good penetration as you can see by the V's on top of the angle. Seems pretty sturdy. I think I have decided to go ahead with the monolink here too. I kind of like it and it is pretty sturdy. It's proven itself many times. I have 6' of square 3/4 tube hanging out that I can use to build it. | |
