If you haven’t watched Karl Fisher’s youtube channel, you have missed out.

Look at this bit of magic. Many ideas for our hobby, plus Karl is always doing something amazing.

I just finished watching the video. Karl has a great shop and made a lot of his own tools. He also tells and shows how to make a lot of the things he makes, using normal tools like we would have. A zip cut for example instead of plasma cutter. Lots of good tips and ideas in every video I have watched, plus, he is always positive and fun to watch.

I was talking about 4” grinders with a cut-off wheel. I have a rotozip, always thought it was useless until I got a 1/4” collet for it. (I lost the original one) and now use it as a ‘die grinder’.

A zip cut (picked that name up from watching metal fabricators on the tube) is a great tool. The cut-off wheels are just super strong now. Even the cheap ones. I snagged one and tore a chunk out of the edge trying to get it out and it still worked fine, no breaking.

His shop is decent sized and very well organized.

I think my biggest problem now is too many tools in too small of a place, I literally have zero room to work on stuff. When I turn around in my garage there is a good chance of me elbowing something or having my hiney knock something down (still makes me laugh) and I have to high-step over stuff which is now common.

The tool bench I want to make is one I can drive around, 4'x8' and has most every tool I have down state on it.

Oh, okay that makes a little more sense, and yeah cutoff discs are super cheap here, you can normally get them for 99 cents a piece or less...
