[DNF] [22 BO] Simplicity Broadmoor 728 XC Build

No big deal on the questions or discussion, I mean maybe if we have a 10 page long discussion on oil viscosity or something. But I’ve gotta be careful not to do that myself so that’s alright. No harm done. Speaking of those shocks, I wonder what kinda pressure is even in them if any when shipped because I never even tried checking them.

Working on the front shock mount. Bolted together before welding connections over the top of the brackets.


Front half of the frame coming together. If you’ll look closely, you’ll see that the strange angels I’m working with here are not at all the most ideal way of doing things. But I really don’t have a very good way to make my cuts angled like that. Also the frame sections that come up to the shock mount are both twisted outward compared with the rest of the frame. Why exactly they ended up like that… uh, I’m not sure, because I should have been able to make the cuts so the were straight. In any case, things are about lined up correctly, so that’s the important thing. I’ll get the connections cleaned up a lot better and add gussets. So it’ll all work out. Just gotta try not to think about it too much…

Mine came with 10psi nitrogen in them.  I lowered mine down to 1psi since the springs were pretty stiff.

That shock tower fab work is awesome as always. Great job. Curious how this is will look when more pieces come together!

Thanks. I had to run some structure up under the shocks to hold the panhard bar and the bottom of the grill. Also the front bumper/grab bar will be attached there. There will be some more bracing and gussets, but it took awhile just to get it as straight as I could.



I’m thinking the battery will also go up there. I have a more narrow AGM battery that might work.
