But, I have been wanting to experiment with using the varidrive as a jackshaft. Set the pulleys where you want them... that is put the ‘vari’ center piece where you want it. You can center it, making the stack just like two equal pulleys or move it to give you some ‘ratio’. Then weld the center section to the shaft. I planned to do that on the Rat Rod until I figured out to use a mower deck spindle instead. It would have been MUCH easier to use the varidrive. Worth a try... then just make a normal clutch setup for the front belt.

PIC DUMP! i got duallies for my GT craftsman i upgraded a pully on it with new bolts spacers and a tensioner so i can hopefully not throw the belt every two seconds. Ive got a video to edit so i can upload it. And also i made a mockup engine for my MTD which needs some pully work. And thanks @mightyraze for the stickers one went right on my truck and another went tight on my hot rod. my GT wont fit in my shed so i hardly work on it so its gonna take a while for me to build it. Also the belt situation is a pain in the butt so thats also fun and i got a test drive video and actually drove it in 1-2 and 3rd gear cant wait to get the motor properly tuned in and running right the carb was fulla gunk from it sitting so it wont rev up it just stalls. Also welder pic since yall asked

You bet and they are going to good uses! Working on my mtd ive got a clutch setup using the vari drive so i can let off the clutch slowly giving me torque for taking off and gradually increases the speed as you let off and with that 708cc monster it should scoot nicely with some gearing and sound like a dang nascar when she gets boom tubes and a dale mowhardt paint scheme!

When i feel better ill go make a sign and enter my MTD into the build off also its too rainy and muddy to even go outside my whole yard is flooded. I feel like the tractors barely 30% done so i think its enterable

Well the murray from the start of this thread got pulled outta storage my buddy offered me a drift trike for it so ill finnaly fix it the drift trike is already planned for sale as soon as i get it home and stick a motor on it. The murray has a belt thats too small and the transaxle needs torn apart a weld ground down on the imput shaft and a grease/oil slurry put in it because bar and chain oil isnt thick enough and it also needs resealed. Then ive gotta fix the clutch issues and stuff then i gotta put it all back together and test it out and make sure its gonna be a good traptor to the next guy because we are gonna take it trail riding when i bring it there

this "free" craftsman got the motor pulled already and i am planning to reverse everything and make it drive like a fork lift and basically build a mini fork lift where you sit over the steering. and i will put a 3 point on the backplate where the tow hitch is and i have a hydraulic cyl and pump for it iverything will be driven on levers or pedals witha steering wheel for the normal steering like a forklift would be setup i have the ability to build a engine crane for the front a fork lift for pallets and a snowblower because all the parts for those are cheap and can be had for cheap or even free. i dont need it to lift more then 150lbs probably the heaviest thing ill lift would be scrap tractors

Funny, I was thinking of doing the same thing, let me know how you plan on doing steering
That just so happens to be the video I found was going to post it but you beat me to it... I believe that tractor has hydraulic power steering from what I can tell, it would be harder to do with manual steering, you might need a drill 90 and a few universal joints?

Look at this sassy little tractor its a garden all lambert havent gotten info on it from another forum. considering they look at what ya posted and dont reply to new posters for some reason. If anyone gots any info on the little guy im happy to hear because if not i think imma throw a cheep set of offroad tires and a predator motor on it. I believe its a solid axle chain driven traptor with a belt clutch which sounds fun to me.

That's a super cool tractor, think it would be a waste to turn it into the rip-o-matic no?
