| I am replacing the Briggs 16 hps engine with a 23 hps Kawasaki FX730V engine. I did rewire the tractor removing the safety switches and key switch, just a push button start switch, 4 pin solenoid. This engine has a solenoid on the starter. How do I wire up the push button starter switch. My tractor is a utility build with a Doc Sprocket locked trans axle, 12" rear pulley and a 4" front pulley. The rear rims are 12" and the tires are 23-11.5x12's for now. I do plan to swap them out for 26-12x12's will use the tractor for backyard utility use. Pulling loads up a steep hill and adding ATV implements. Thanks, Ken | |

| I think there are 2 big posts. One wires into the starter, the other goes to the battery. Then there should be a smaller post. For a push button, (2 posts on switch) One side goes to the smaller post on the solenoid and the other side the battery.
Ignore the 4 post solenoid on the tractor. Just use the one on the starter. Hang onto the 4 post, should the one on the starter go out, there is a way to make it still work with the 4 post. That is another topic for another day. :-)
That is the simplest hookup.

| Thanks MightyRaze, I was thinking the same, just wanted to see if I was going in the right direction. I'll post pictures when the tractor is done. Thanks again, Ken | |
