Here we are... Stage 2 I found a front end from a golf cart pretty cheap on marketplace so I decided I needed to make it work. 3/8 angle on the front frame rails and extended out about 4 inches. Next week I get to sort out the steering.

I mean, I did put red stickers on it... But on stage 3 I have color change plans. Anyways, I never posted pictures of the chain drive setup. Belt drive from engine, through clutch to jackshaft - chain around jackshaft and transmission. I know everyone wants speed out of their rigs but I use my tractor to pull my trailer around and had to tone it down to a maximum speed of 9mph in 5th gear. Anyways, don't pick the pictures apart to much because it was really just slapped together for fitment. After I get the steering working I will be taking this apart and making it beefier.
Well I got the steering working, that was fun! I used the original steering shaft, cut off the teeth and used a lathe to make the diameter small enough to slide in the steering joint. I also had to lathe the shaft going into the golf cart steering joint because it was smaller. After all the lathing fun I zapped them in and figured out the rest... Twice... First time was a fail but I cleaned up, went inside and pondered on it for a little bit and went back to work and now we are golden.

I redid the shifter linkage last week but it is still really hard to shift. Not sure why but I'm sure it's in the transmission. Today I finished up the exhaust, I was searching O Reilly's and found an exhaust pipe just the size I was looking for (1.75") and it had some bends on it! Double win, ordered it Monday for Tuesday pickup and this morning I put it to work and the straight part is just about as long as the foot board which I really liked. And to finish the exhaust I found a Yamaha muffler and a Harley Davidson muffler that was in a scrap pile but couldn't find it inside myself to throw them out. Obviously I went with the HD pipe
Here is the exhaust pipe all welded up and ready to get installed
And here it is all finished up- originally I did not plan on the tip sticking out so far but it's growing on me
The last thing I did to it today was cut off the right pedal and welded the left pedal to the shaft so I could have a left clutch pedal. Drives me nuts every time I get on this thing with a left clutch pedal. I planned on still using the parking brake lock but when I cut the pedal off I cut just a hair to much so I do not have a parking brake right now... To be continued...
