close call (pet related)

This is my Baby Girl Abigal ! We had a close call where we almost lost her. She had recently gotten bit on her lip by something and was causing her nose to keep getting clogged up and here eyes were matting. so we took her to the vet and they put her on a strong antibiotic which they said will make her vomit, loose appitite and be tired ! after a few days of not eating i was getting concerend she was loosing wieght at an alarming rate and drinking water and pissing like crazy (which i've noticed an increase in this over the last year). So we took her back in and they checked her blood and said she was Diabetic and here blood sugar level was almost 400 and should be like 81 ! almost going into a diabetic coma. so they gave her an insulin shot and a saline shot to hydrate her as she was very dehydrated. and now we have to give her a insulin shot twice a day to keep it in check. I just wanted to share this because i was clueless to the fact that Dogs could be diabetic. So if you have A dog and you see an increase in drinking water and urinating and being lethargic ! get them checked out.

Glad to hear things turned out okay for here! Definitely something to keep in mind for those of us with canine pals.

Its little known that all animals could be diabetic. Bodies are dumb sometimes.
