That's going to be a great drum once you get it welded up. How are you going to anchor the first wrap of cable on the drum? I think the easiest thing to do would be to just drill a hole the diameter of the cable on an angle and insert it into that, then spool the cable onto the drum.

I thought you was making it a 4 wheel drive, LOL. I seen it on Sprockets Garage and you only had the one pic and it looked like there was CV axles on it already.

Turning out good so far man, if you can afford it Id suggest winch rope, Ive ran both and I like the rope, just easer to work with, plus you can get a fairlead and 50 of rope pretty cheap off ebay

It's a 3" on the engine to a 6" on the gearbox. And I think a 9 tooth on the 700 to maybe a 20 on the jackshaft? I'm not really sure. I haven't worked out any ratios yet.

That's funny. I just about finished the belt system for this.
Not a great picture but you can kinda see what's going on. Just a regular single pulley clutch. You may recognize that the clutch is in fact on the wrong side of the belt, but for this I don't think that's an issue
The lever i made for it. It's Budgie's deck lift lever i cut up and bent. It may or may not stay like this, we'll see.
Mighty was correct about the residual drag, it does have a bit in neutral
The belt does have a tendency to spin when the clutch is disengaged. I added a few keepers and it got a bit better. I can still stop it by hand so i figure it won't be an issue. I'll keep it in neutral most of the time anyway so.
What's left to do here as far as i can tell: -Fairlead -Weld drum together -Figure out how I'm securing the first few wraps on the drum (I did order some winch rope btw, should be here around christmas) -Winch brake setup (Using the stock caliper on the 700) -Check whatever lubricant is in the 700 I haven't even popped the plug yet and I've had it a year -Blow everything back apart and paint it
