[DQ'd Member Banned] SebastianAlbrecht's Murray Widebody Offroad + Trail Mower [2019 Build-Off Entry]

Ok... after thinking a lot about it, I decided to enter this Mower here, so I get more pressure on me to get my ass off my loved PC and work on the mowers again!

So I will build this Murray Widebody I bought in Summer!





Yes, I know, the shop is a whole mess!

Here a few more pics of the Mower and the Engine:













































OK.....
I got this Widebody with blown 12HP Flathead B&S for 75€. That's a good deal in my area!
Then in fall I got this 12HP B&S OHV for 80€ which is a incredible deal!
And I got that Plow with Wheel Weights for 100€ which is a good Deal too.

My original plan was to throw a 14HP Vanguard in (have it lying around somewhere) but that would take several hood mods and that thing were thirstier than with this OHV.

Deck got pulled off and junk Engine removed!

BUILD PLANS!

-12HP B&S OHV (need to get it running)
-Rebuilding + Doc Locking the MST 205 in it
-Reinforcing the Frame
-Mounting the Plow
-3:2 Pulley Swap (around 8" front and 6" rear)
-22x11x8 ITP MUD LITES for the Rear
-18x8x8 Front Tires
-LED LIGHTS
-maybe a 12v car radio
-Loud and quiet mode Exhaust
-trailer hitch
-front bumper
-mud protection rear fender mods
-front tire fenders
-new paint
-and few other goodies IDK about RN!

I hope U guys like that build!!

Good luck on it! I never have seen a 12hp OHV briggs. Nice LED Lights too.

I will! The old Engine was DOM 2002 since the WIdebody was DOM 2002 and all stock. IDK RN about the new OHV!

@SebastianAlbrecht 2002 Murray interesting. The front who is little bit different from other ones that I've seen. I like the blue that it came with. I've never seen a 12 1/2 OHV before. Take your time I'm in no rush lol.

I guess the Pre Owner sprayed the hood blue since it's black on the Inside but IDK. I think Briggs ust played with the RPMs a tiny bit to ger 1/2 HP more outta them otr so, but not sure!

@SebastianAlbrecht the Flathead is a 2001 and the OHV is a 1999.

@SebastianAlbrecht the B&S Flatbed was built 12/13/2001 and the B&S OHV was built 3/8/1999. Your Murray was basically completely built and ready to be sold by the end of 2001 or beginning of 2002.

Yeah, I know how to read the DOM and the Cubicinches outta those codes...

But it WILL NEVER MOW LAWNS AGAIN! I Traded the Bagger against a Junk Mower, and the Deck prolly gets stripped so I can reuse the spindle as a Jackshaft in a future build, and could weld the deck body under a future racing mower project if I ever build 1

$20 for 4 wow! Thats a killer deal now. I remember maybe a year ago when the LED lights where just kinda starting buy 4 for about $36.

I bought them in Summer 2k18 and wanted to use 2 for the Widebody and 2 for the Mud Murray but then I robbed 2 of them for the MTD cuz I needed bright light xD

You've got that 14 hp vtwin vanguard, I'd use it instead!

It takes Hood Mods, and the Vanguard is thirstier than the OHV.....

I want to use the 14HP Vanguard on the Dynamark, since I have enough space under the hood to fit it without trouble, and the 600 I want to use has only 3 gears, so I need more torque when i dont want to shift down all the time... and I think this 28CI OHV Will have enough power to run the Widebody fast enough, and even in 4th gear or so when plowing... I could also use Flatheads since I have 2 Flatheads (11 & 12,5HP) sitting in the shop, but this 1 has the upgraded electrical system... and OHVs produce more torque and R more fuel efficient, since this thing will be replacing MTD in everything than the mowing Part...

should be a nice plow machine with the 22" tires, I love my little tractors with those tires, they climb everything...

Wow. Never seen a 12.5 OHV. But it should be much better than a 12.5 Powerbuilt. Those things are junk. I personally like the 14.5 OHV the best. They're super easy to work on and they never die. But as long as your oil chamber is behind the carb there's really no difference between the two except for being a 12.5 and a 14.5. The 15.5 has its chamber under the flywheel. Crazy right. I've had over 8 OHVs and the worst thing I've had is either a valve knock or rod knock (just happens to be the one in the build off ). My experience with flatheads have not been very good. 1st 1, went wide open (as if there were no gov.) when you start it. 2nd 1 was blown. And 3rd 1 wasn't too bad really, bought it to replace the blown one.

My Experience with Flatheads was pretty good til now, they sound minty, have good torque, they're reliable, fire right up, easy to work on,... all in all a Quality Engine!

This is my 1st single OHV I own. I didnt dug into it til now but I guess its a 14,5 just with a special intake gasket that has a smaller hole diameter than the intake is to decrease HP! Saw that on FB in a Group. Since I saw FFs Vids, I know they're tough since he is abusing his 1 pretty hard!

Thanks. Yea the OHVs are pretty tough, I haven't abused mine too hard only because it has a helicoil. But soon as I change the head, look out. The only time (besides online) I've ever heard of a blown OHV was my friends
14.5 HP. Then again I've never had a 12.5 that was not a powerbuilt. B&S put a weaker connecting rod into the powerbuilt for some reason, probably for cheaper manufacturing. But for that reason I try to stay away from the
powerbuilts as much as I can. I haven't had any experience with the normal 12.5 so I guess my opinion only applys to powerbuilts. And yes, FF does abuse his pretty hard.
