MrShaft696 Tractor buying Sellin Mowing....Projects

Been working on my own stuff allot lately, but this weekend I got a call about these sears tractors. An old man died and the family was doing a clean out of all his stuff....

(3) sears garden tractors....

all have working 50"? decks...hi low transmissions..  I got them all to turn over with compression, just gonna take some work to get them back in running condition...

A yellow ss/16 Onan twin engine


A blue super 12 Tecumseh engine


A gray GT16 briggs opposed twin

Curious what that silver one's Briggs muffler setup is like. I think some of those came stock, I notice it has a slightly different lower grill half. I swapped a briggs into one of mine last summer and still figuring a muffler for it.

yeah I can snap a pic later on of it, I like that tractor, but its the ugliest...I know it would be easier getting parts for it rather than the onan or tecumseh....

you have a yellow one like that right?

Kinda... I have 2, the one closest is a hydro.

yeah they are all "old man" taken care of, I have all the books etc...

picked this up yesterday.....2005ish GT5000, the previous owner had a new engine put in it, which is now a briggs 25hp v-twin. Decent shape, hydro.

Oh that'd be nice to have. I'd get $1200 for that in a heartbeat.

yeah you think? I don't think I could get that, I paid 200 for it.... nothing wrong with it other than the guy put a push button start on it when the ignition failed or something... From what I see around here it could be worth 600-800, it came with a plow, but I have a dozer blade I might put on it.

Wow, 25 hp motor! I'd swop it out with a hi hp oppey, just to keep the 25 hp. . Then tell the buyer, yah got it free with a blown motor, this one works just fine for it, LOL.

I sold it last night for 750, so it was a good flip for me, since i bought it for 200 and put no money into it...I just put a dozer blade on it that I already had...

Easy come, easy go, LOL. Good deal though.

trying to pick up another one tonight, square hood, blown engine...

got a square hood GT pretty rough....engine blown, trans seems good but was outside a long time so gonna be hard to decide if im gonna fix it or part it....

That looks big, LOL. I'm use to seeing the ones with the 10hp engines in them. I guess everyone calls them the LT versions, with the 42 double blade deck. Looks like this one has a 3 bladed deck, 10 inch rims on back with 8 inch rims on the front, cast front axle, with all the trimmings. I stripped mine that someone gave me just for the parts. Loved the front axle on mine so much that I'll be using it for a Mini Banshee build that I'm doing soon (I hope).

hah i have a couple but in pennsylvania....im sure someone can help you..... I usually buy junky tractors and pull the engine...

Keep an eye out at scrapyards, auctions, Facebook marketplace, and the like. They're not that hard to come by.

Hey if you got any attachments that would fit my 2008 Toro LX 426 LMK.

couple of the machines I sold this season...there was allot I forgot to keep track

this was a cool swap i did, this tractor had a blown intek so i got this ohv from a older grey craftsman & threw a double bagger on it...
