Just going to start a thread for my mowers, since I use them for the woods, mud, towing etc. and some of them just have minimal modifications, they don't need a solo thread....

Anyway here is what I picked up today, Craftsman GT5000 running diving..... It has a problem with the PTO clutch, it works but turns really slow, I tried adjusting it but it didnt work.  I think the whole part just needs replaced.... I am going to use it to mow in our fields & I like these bigger tractors for hauling heavier stuff around the property. 18.5 hp kohler command. High low transmission. 4speed gear.

Yeah haha, Magnums are great engines. That's a nice rig though! Must have the 122419x transaxle like mine. Should make a great work horse tractor.

look what came home today, old school craftsman II, got it for free with a little trailer, grass bagger, and a plow....

doesnt run....yet but the motor is free so will get into it, i can see it has mouse stuff and junk under the shrouds so it will need to be taken apart an cleaned, new fuel lines etc......

Nice looking tractor! Can't beat free either, haha. Is it a single cylinder engine?

Yeah they're great engines, assuming it's a Briggs, simple and very reliable.

Oh I see, it's one of the older ones with the single piece carburetor. Yeah those are nice engines for sure.

Nice collection of mowers. Looking forward to seeing the new additions. That sux about the threads, not sure if you extract it or not. Can you not leave it the way it is or does it need adjusted?

I need to adjust it because it is running funky, so we will see.

hah its not all luck, I search night and day for this stuff... I see the 4212s around occasionally... I didn't say it was in nice shape, it runs but it apparently does not steer but I hope to fix it.

Bummer, getting that screw out is pretty key to getting the idle circuit clean in the carb.

How far down is the screw? If it's near(ish) to the surface you could cut a slot in it with a hacksaw and back it out with a flat screwdriver. Just an idea, it could work.

so i picked up the tractors... the craftsman is a older OHV which needs some work & assembly. The simplicity runs, apparently has a bad solenoid, and the guy told me it didnt steer. The drag link bolt came off and its just hanging there, so score for me....

Man these are some good finds.

What are your plans for all these tractors?  Parts machines?  Gonna flip some of em?  Having two mowers is handy so two people can mow at once.
