Biggasmowers "Muckraker" [2018 Build-Off Entry]

Sorry for not posting much or anything. Been pretty busy last week being in Nebraska and finally got home then got a bad cold so haven't been feeling the greatest but recently I have done some work on this thing. Cleaned the carb and now it runs and idles nicely and put the fenders back on , it has 3 link front suspension now that is full functional and gives about 8 inches of travel up and down with some soft coil overs from a 99 cc Honda motorcycle. Still can't find the other agg tire but oh well it will turn up sometime. Had a sketchy first test drive with no steering, thorttle, brakes or clutch and a flat tire. Used a idler pulley on anew old tranny mount to manually pull the slack out of the belt in 4th gear and feathered the throttle on the engine and it drives! The front suspension is light enough that the engine can lift the frame if I pulled up the pulley to much to clutch it. Needs some steering and a real clutch andable a smaller pulley on the engine so it has more torque but it's getting somewhere.

Ok, so here's an update! Need to buy a new front pulley and rig up some steering and a clutch then it should drive, still lots to do but I am making progress but ran out of funds temporarily. Did drive in a straight line to see about pulley ratio and I have decided to go for a 6 inch engine pulley to the 7.5 inch rear pulley and it will go about 10 MPhil roughly in 4th gear. Which for a 5hp engine is pretty good I think

Yup!!! I have more spikes to add still for added danger, err umm hood protection...

been messing with converting a vertical oppy to a horizontal to go in this thing, so far its going well just cant find the mounting plate and cant figure out the sump pickup. pulled a truck steering box out of an old ford to put in this to have some good steering for once .

Solid steering plan choice but will that fit under the hood with that oppy and the shock towers?

Steering is in, and works nicely, still need a drag link. didnt end up getting that engine so it is going to be powered with a predator 212. found some itp mud lites that are 2 27x12x12 and 2 27x9x12, so the 9 inch wide ones will go on this thing and getting them hopefully for 100 bucks. still have 3/4 inch tread on them.

Getting her all into working condition needs lots of improvements but it's close to a a video of it to be made.

Yeah your alignment looks way out of whack but the clone motor looks good under the hood.

Right now the pipe just runs down out of the way to keep the heat from under the hood. Right before I took the pics the tie rod came off on one side, so yes my alignment is way off lol. She pops little wheelies in 2nd gear. Any higher and it bogs down if I let er rip too hard. Only goes 7 mph max but for the rear tires having fluid in them it does well.

It's after, I made it work. It's still going to get a ton of rework soon I hope.

Well that happened. New experience I guess, drive completely different, but really am liking the increased stability of it.

Neat. Looks way better with those wheels up front as opposed to the tiny Ags, haha. The side exit exhaust looks pretty cool as well. Nice work!

yeah I like the side exhaust, I had two of those over the summer & it does suck taking those panels off to work on them but, its a good looking machine.

Is the front suspension gone now?  I don't see the shock towers.

Yes, the suspension is gone. Didn't really need it for a workhorse, and just complicated things up
