| Here here! So the plan: Murray GT 46380X50B, is down to pieces. This project will be called "The Donkey" or as donkey is called in Estonia "eesel". - clutch will be modified to handle some speed and towing (double) - pulley swap, not for speed but it should do max 35mph - the engine gets a good haul, already started, it had water inside and the left lower cilinder has some micro damage. - peerless 820-029 is already cleaned from the awful grease and waiting for oil, gears are in excellent condition - wont lock the diff - carburetor (3 screw) is almost done, the fuel pump needs a little tinkeing - i have to build some kind of bumper - must get a good looking beer holder - that's a must - engine is 18hp opposite briggs, it is in some dissassembled state, but if i get the head gaskets, then i can put that together. - will try to keep most of the parts to theyr original state, that goes for the whole donkey (just finished cleaning the nuts and bolts) - last but not least, will do some painting, this means original color. Here are two pictures of my work ahead, hope it gets me into the 50% pile Now we have some good colds coming, so i dont know when i get to work on it, weekly i hope but i need it to be ready at least for spring. -Approved by Doug, 2/3/2018 | |

| Hello, yes i was away for a bit, and got me a son. How come atltf de-activates so soon an account and i have to reset my password... Some builds take time, i dont want to share every nut and bolt, i wanna do some work and then maybe "show-off" - if i have to post every week something, then fine, will try to post something bjuutiful. | |

| Congratulations on the son! I am unaware of account deactivation, that is @Doug's department. As for updates; you do not have to post something every week. We just ask that you post a little something each month so the admins can see progress. You do not have to post every little nut and bolt. Rule Refresher... Under the section: - Competition Details - Entrants MUST update their thread at least monthly detailing progress, with either write ups and/or photos. So you don't even have to send pictures, just something like. "Worked on Steering and some paint this month." and it would probably be good. Again, congratulations on the son! I bet he will take a lot of your time! Kids are pretty awesome! | |

| Good Morning\Evening Now, cause of me, the rules were changed, so i will try to set up a post, for this month. I have made some improvements and i have gotten to somewhere. Now, i made an upgrade to my gearbox brake: I will attach a wire leader to my clutch pedal, so if i dis-engage the clutch, i have to push more to brake, so two in one. I changed the pulleys, on the engine and the gearbox: On the gearbox is a bit bigger than the engine one, but lot smaller than the factory one, as i said - i dont need a formula, i need speed and "pauer". Now, i have a small "need help" on one thing - the governor on what ever it may be called... I know you all have all sorts of knowledge and experience but i sadly dont have... So, how much of the governor should i keep and where should i connect my gas pedal and the thing that i cant find the right word....in Estonian its called "toores" - its the knob that you pull, when you start your engine, when its cold...darn what was the word.... Also, i have heard from youtube many opinions if to keep the governor or not...so if possible, please a lil help. Forgot one thing...what wire is this? The frame and everything else is painted, except the hood, i dont know what to do with it...maybe someday i know...but now i dont like the plastic...too weak. Small question, what should i use, to the nuts that keep the gearbox together? i know that if i dont use anything, then aluminium and steel dont work well...corrosion and so on... Cheers mates!

| i’m a big fan of keeping the governor so you don’t over rev of the engine. if you decide to remove the governor you need to remove it from inside the engine and I really suggest getting a tachometer.
I would not worry at all about the steel bolts and the aluminum housing.
that’s a nice looking taper lock pulley

| Howdy... Some updates. Wiring: Front, note, the paint is better now, the sides are trimmed: Pedal: Overall: Info: * the seat is in progress, will do an oldschool tractor seat. * the ignition coil is dead, new one on his way. * wont do to the front much more, lights will be installed(led) and if i get one thing done, maybe one day it will look very very mean. * transferbox has Bardahl 80W90 and the engine 10W30 <- both are in my mind good quality. Little help: There are coming two wires underneath the flywheel, one red and one black -> do i get it right when i say so: the red one goes straight to your battery for charging and other one you can use for front lights. <- question is, how to use the black wire for front lights, if its the negative side? if you get what i mean. | |

| I am not sure if they wires have any different polarity as the stator bolts to the engine and that is direct grounded . I have run lights off of either wire and it works fine for me, but the black wire might be less current for trickle charging the battery and the white wire is higher voltage for light applications. Not sure but that's what I think. | |

thanks, i will look into it. Now, theres a huge problem, i got the donkey running but with only the stroke on, maybe 6-7mm i can open it and then starts the agony...it runds and then dies and then runs <- before it dies it starts to rev up and then again going to die. So please some help, i know you have seen it many times but im a newbie. I have repaired the carburetor with a repair kit, also i have a new ignition coil and sparkplugs...

| Hmmm, to me that kinda sounds like an air leak. Are there any bad or missing gaskets for the carb or intake manifold?
