[Complete] Beast Mowed by Jason Kahler [2018 Build-Off Entry]

This is my first year of the ATLTF 2018 Build Off. I will be entering my Garden Tractor named Beast Mowed. It will be powered by a 25hp briggs OHV twin and a 633a transaxle. I will run 16x6.5-8 X-Trac's up front and 25x10-12 Executioners for the rear. I will be locking the differential, most likely doing a 5 link suspension setup, bumper with lights and a winch and painting this sucker black and red. I will be tearing it down a lot further to get it painted, and assembling from there. Other than a gas petal, rear rack and a few minor things I'm hopin this thing will dominate anything ahead of it! How are you planning on linking up the transmission and the engine?

Those models had a belt twist design.

Same body as mutt started as I think. But this has the 633 instead of an 820

How does that work?

Typically like this.

Quiet complicated of a belt system but its got a double clutch pulley setup so its works pretty good.

Interesting Mighty. i never knew that was possible. It must be a mess of pulleys and be hard to clutch on though.

The setup on my GT is a bit different on the engine side due to it being a horizontal shaft, but it still has the same clutch and belt twist. It actually works very well.

Newest update. Got the 25hp V twin running. Slapped some PZ30 mm carbs on and made some stainless steel manifolds. Next is assembling the shrouds, and lock the diff for the 633a.

I've been quite busy with other stuff. I plan to open the 633a this week and lock it. If that falls through, I will add pictures and a link the the video on this thread.

Thanks, so far I've gone ahead and painted the engine shrouds and assembled it.

Interesting what you have done. Did it boost you power any?

@muckmudd I could decently notice a signification Time from idle to full throttle. It seems to top out at 4300 RPMS, like most Briggs. Nothing a little port and polishing can't fix.

Got a quick update on the 633a. I popped it open, and pulled out the Differential. Going to mill two 1/4 or thicker steel plates that will have 6 bolt holes and a cut out for the gear on the axle shaft. I am going to throw out the small differential gears and replace them with the two steel plates. This should work great, I've just got to design a plate in Solid Works, and cut two out. No welder because I blow up too many welded diffs.

Those locker plates seem like a great idea.  I might adapt that someday for a wheel horse trans.

What kind of material are the plates made out of?  Just plate steel?  not heat treated?

Plain steel, about 1/2 thick.
