[Complete] Snapp Dragin RER Death Trap [2018 Build-Off Entry]

Here is my rear engine rider snapper build off entry .

My goal for this machine is to have it 24+MPH , Perform well in VERY muddy terrain , And pop wheelies easily .
The frame is completely stripped down to the chassis and ready for modification .



The things i plan to do/build on this Build off entry are:
Build custom axle brackets that will raise the rear end height.
Mount foote gearbox.
Extend rear frame to make room for oppy and different seat placement.
Shorten front pipe frame.
Front end suspension.

Parts in parts pile are:
Live axle with 4 on 4 hubs for golf cart rims .
Foote 3 speed gear box
Briggs and Stratton 19 HP opposed twin engine( ungoverned )
Axle bearings+hangers .
Snapper RER frame.
Golf cart tire hubs( tires are temps, i plan on itp mud lites or other aggressive tires)
Coil overs.
Brake cailiper and disk brake.
36 tooth sprocket.
Murray pan frame fenders.

Only been a few RER's since I have been around and non of those finished. I know you can do it, will be massive with that OPPY in there! Good Luck!

Thanks , yeah its a very basic build with some tweaks and additional things i will do as the build progresses . The oppy is going to be as far behind the axle as possible to help with weight distribution.

That's up to the Admins....  RER's are acceptable frame for the build-off i believe. I think Doug did one last year.  Maybe MrModified too?  I'm thinking this year now. 

Yeah they are fine in the build off. ( well as long as i keep the wheels out of line lol) Theres nothing that should disqualify this one !!

If you put that oppy behind the axle you're going to have a wheelie machice. I bet that's the idea but I don't think it would make a good mudder too.

Stretches RER has an oppy and that thing is fantastic. Im gonna steal it after Haspin one of these years.

Well the idea is to keep the front end light so i have basically all of my weight and the machines weight over the axle so i have good traction and i woulnt have a front end that will bog down.( it is going to have an over sized cheater bar with a big tire to prevent flipping it.)

Well the front end is shortened ! Now i need to get abut 25 ft of steel tube for the rest of the build ....

So my entry is then right?

You gonna keep direct steering?

i might keep it direct but if i lift the front as planned it will need something different.

Took off the pipe pivot bracket and flipped it over and welded it to the front of the frame to give me 7 inches more of open frame for mounting the foote gearbox.

Filling in the engine hole part of the extension?

Well i extended the frame by putting the pipe frame bracket on the front of the frame , but the engine mounting hole was offset and i need my weight to be evenly placed in the center of the frame, so i had to fill in the old engine mounting hole to have metal to drill through for engine mounting.

I'm with you now. Original single went in sideways (offset) and the Oppy you are putting in needs centered. Sorry, so many things going on, still catching up what people are doing. Looking good!

Thanks! i am going to weld/patch all of the excess holes on the frame to give it a smooth appearance and sand it to look real nice. still not sure on a color for it

If i left my oppy in the original spot i would be leaning whenever i went on soft terrain lol
