[Complete] Bow Tie Mud Guy : BOUNTY HUNTER BUILD [2018 Build-Off Entry]

BOW TIE MUD GUY BACK AGAIN LOL - this is a mtd ( huskee ) that will become my new modified oval racer for the 2018 season !! this will get a craftsman LT 1000 complete dash and gen 2 steering , it will be lowered with a gt 6000 front axle and frame half , a 1 inch live axle , new rear sprocket , disk breaks , rims - im going to run turf savers all around for dirt oval , it is getting a NEW22 hp v-twin predator horizontal shaft engine with a 40 series CVT , duel exhaust , lowered seat into fenders , either a hand or foot throttle front and rear bumper, custom wiring , tether kill , Nerf bars, custom one off paint !! final video off this build will be taken at one of my races this summer hopefully in first place LOL , i hope that you all enjoy this rig !!

Wow spensive build ! those cvts aren't cheap! Sounds like it should be powerful enough for some high speeds.

Sounds cool. Sounds like you will be busy this summer too. Good luck we will all have something different and that will be great.

AVENGER BUILD UPDATE : went and cut out the old dash mounting and grabbed the LT 1000 dash and gen 2 steering and got it mounted in the MTD chassis , stretched the front a few inches more to give more room for the new engine , , made a steering rod to go from 2nd gen steering up to the GT 6000 front end , still need to make the tie rods !! went out and picked up the new 22 hp v-twin predator horizontal shaft engine and in the next up date for this rig - motor and hood fab work !!  

So its basically a go cart.... I want to put a 500cc street bike engine in a frame with a live axle and small slicks . I guess I am just a burn out fan though.

That engine should give it some pep!!!

Hecould always do what carsandcameras did to their 670 and make 55 hp lol

Think you will have enough power for that?

AVENGER BUILD UPDATE #2
i ordered the live axle and 40 series CVT kit on tuesday , the live axle came Friday and the clutch came today !! i went out today and mounted the axle and mounted all 4 x-tracks , i only can work on this rig a couple hours at a time because of family life but this tuesday and Wednesday i will have the complete 2 days to work on this rig as long as i want , but today after i mounted the axle i could not resist setting the 670 on it to see what kind of hood mods i will need to do !!

That engine is ENORMOUS!! I love this thing man! I really wanna build an mtd like this now. I’d use a vertical shaft engine myself, but the way the rear axle is mounted and the way you extended the front, looks awesome!

That setup / look is pretty awesome. But come on man slow down a little your making all us other builders look bad. (Just kidding)

Thats the nice thing about live axles and cvts, they assemble a lot faster and easier than messing with belts and clutches with pulley ratios and alignment.

Wow that is a serious machine. Quite the competition going on!

AVENGER BUILD UPDATE #3
ok first thing first i am changing the name of this build because after i set the engine on the frame it needed a better name !! so thats what i did please say hello to BOUNTY HUNTER !!
ok last week all my parts came in and tue. i started work putting the new parts in !! first came the live axle pretty straight forward on that , then came the big v-twin , had to build motor mounts for clearance of the tav 40 series CVT , drilled all holes for engine bolts and put 2 in so i could work on the hood , had to cut the left side of lower part of hood for CVT clearance , cut out the hole center of the hood for clearance and built what i call the scoop LOL not to sure if i like it but time will tell if i keep it or redo it , moved on to the front bumper and got that mounted looks pretty good i think !! after that i pulled the rear fenders and seat , pulled all the old hardware from the old seat , cut out the rear fenders so i could lower the seat as low as i can , mounted it and started to fab up fenders to fit , had to remove all old mounts but the ones for the front and made new ones for the back , i used 2 old trans mounts for a MST 206 the ones up front to remount the fenders . so far so good , i did remove the start box of engine and relocated it to the dash , still need to add to the wires to hook it back up so she will start .i also got most of the nerf bars done and mounted but still need the side rails . i still have a long ways to go but its coming together real nice !! next will be rear bumper , gas pedal , chock cable , start wires , battery and the first start of the engine !! stay tuned for that    

I’m going to be building my ACE mtd very similar to this chassis wise...can you go into more detail on the front axle mount/frame extension? Looks to be the front end of an AYP frame flipped and welded or bolted inside the MTD frame. Then flipped the axle. Am I close?

How far would you recommend stretching the front? I’m hoping for about 50 mph...

Nice work. Would you post pictures sometime of how you're routing the chain from the torque converter to the rear axle?

@CraftsmanQuad19 yes your right the front half of the frame is from a GT6000 , it is bolted and welded to the MTD frame , also the axle has been moved to the top of the frame and the mounting plate was flipped not the axle !! it also is bolted down . as for the ride you want to build doing 50 well all my rigs have been extended , some are just to front of original frame , others have been extended 20 to 25 inches , i have a rig that i run and she does about 55 or so and it has been extended 21 inches with the GT 6000 stretch

@Crazy_Carl yes when i get ready to do the chain i will post pic's but to be honest that will be a very easy thing to do because all there is a rear sprocket , idler sprocket and link it to the cvt

Does the extension have to come from a GT frame? Or can I pull one from an AYP LT?

I like how that motor fits in there, barely, LOL.

Make the hood fit the motor, not the other way around lol. i like it !

there has been some progress on bounty hunter !! the hood with the wire mesh did not turn out like i wanted so i tore it apart and found a 2nd hood just like the original hood , i took what was left of the first hood and cut up the new hood and made this one from the 2 . i like this a lot better , i also got new longer engine bolts and the engine is now mounted in the chassis , im waiting for a few parts to build the exhaust , i still need to get the rear sprocket and chain and run the key switch wires before a test start !!

Should go fast enough to scare last night's meal out, what kind of gear ratios/tooth count are you running ?
