Facelifting the Forum

Please bear with us, Doug and I are trying to make some changes to the site.  Some of you have seen the updates.  There are still more updates to be made.  Doug is a busy guy and I have the tendency to inundate him with ideas.  Like the old Johnny Cash song... "One Piece at a time".

Im always down to implement your ideas. Its nice having someone around here with a creative eye and the initiative to roll with it.

I've had a few ideas. May take me a while to catch @Doug with the time. LOL

Like the new background but i'm not a fan of the banner. I like not only seeing the tractor but also the scenery.

I kinda like the banner, looks good with this tractor anyway. Depends on the terrain. The banner we had a while back with MUTT was pretty cool with the creek bed. And mr.mods simplicity, very nice background. But the angle of the wheel horse in this picture, I like this way better.

redzz02's image will be up there for about another month.... We'll probably swap it out again in March. But I agree, the image will depend on the contents of the image.

Will you run another contest?

Sometimes like I mentioned above will have a half dozen choices and we will have a vote for the top of the page.

Yeah, the next banner will be in March and itll be user submitted, user voted.

Ooooh ! i will go pose my tractors !!! lol would be awesome to have your own machine on the front page so to speak .

Ever since I was made an Admin, and even before then I believe, the banner has always changed to a users tractor. I used to pull them from the pics thread and edit when I had the urge. Its much easier to have users submit their favorite and have them vote on what they want. No bias here.

The thread will open the beginning of February for submissions, then midway through the month a voting thread will be made.

Yeah maybe the background of this months banner wasn't amazing but don't you want to keep it recognizable and formal and not switch between background or not?

The banner is easy to change. Mighty keeps the logo on it as well as the attribute to the builder, so its easy to spot. I meant the background background shouldnt be changed often. The style of the banner was just a test.

I really like the new look. The photo contest sounds very fun
