2003 heavily modified Murray Off-road tractor

3/8" would probably do, but I would go up to 1/2" just for comfort. I'd wanna know for damn sure I'm not gonna break the thing.

Got some work done on Christmas and this afternoon , Finally moved the shock support forward and made higher brackets to lower the frame some . today i made and put on a sway bar and mounts .

Hey that track rod setup looks pretty good! Should work fine. Decided on a link setup plan yet?

I will go with a three link because i have three more atv tie rods with that style of ball joint ( Chinese quad parts lol) its pretty solid with the track rod on it

Ah, nice! As long as you orient the joints the proper way on the axle it should work great. Make sure the 3-link bars aren't at a super steep angle either.

They will be almost level with the frame when I'm done with them so they should have good movement

Yeah that would be best, mine aren't quite that level but they are at a nice enough angle to work good. Can't wait to see some pictures! Haha.

Thanks , I dot know yet sadly , still need a link on top and a drag link for steering which will be very interesting to make because of my bottom linkages

looks good, just brace up your frame side mounts before you ride it much, they look like they would bend with a good hit. I love seeing all these front suspension builds. Makes me want to build one

Looks good biggas! Only thing I would do is turn the lower joints 90* so once all the links are done and bolted up the axle doesn't want to tilt back and forth. It looks good though, very clean looking!

Yeah i will be putting in bottom braces on the frame for those , and they are just tacked in place cause i ran out of wire

i might do that if its too much rocking . not sure how it would help much by rotating them because of the joint style

Worked on it till midnight last night . got the top link in and burned in some more welds and cleaned it up a bit .

Bit of a unique 3 link setup.  I see with the new pix what Allis was saying, but I think I see where you are going with it too.    Only thing I can possibly see is like allis said is the tilting.  Not so much due to the link angles, I think your shocks will handle that. I think because your panhard is on the back, your center link is low giving less top side support.  Just some food for thought.

When i put the track bar on i was planning on doing one on the front too for but i ran out of atv linkages and had too lose the front track bar and went to a three link instead of four .

All its missing is a drag link , i also found some softer coil overs to give it more absorbtion but havent picked them up yet,
This is my solution to putting in a single drag link while still using the murray steering system .

Looking really clean biggas! I wouldn't rely on the coilovers to hold the axle from tilting though, they're not meant for that and that's how they get snapped off. Gonna be a test drive video once she's sll done?

Would you look over it really closely and see what the weak points might be so i can look out for issues and fix them ? How would i twist the coil overs? i moved the bottom links down on the axle and the top one coulb be higher if i moved my track bar to the front

Well it looks good but I drew a couple things out to show you.

Basically just refering to the joints being vertical on your axle. When I mounted my center link that way it wouldn't lock the axle solid and it would try and tilt back and forth. I just welded the joint solid and it fixed it.





Also maybe add a couple of gussets to the mounts just so they dont try and bend.



Other than that it seems okay!
