I got the toggle kill switch installed on the ol' Ford.

Also I decided that I should try and avoid confusion when I call this engine a 16hp, since it has 14hp head tins on it.

You coulda called it a 14hp and you prolly wouldn't have been wrong. 14hp and 16hp are the same displacement.

Well I decided to get rid of the fuel tank on the hood setup, and mount it under the seat as planned.

I just cut the fenders, put the tank underneath and made a bracket the holds it against the underside of the fenders.











I also added a couple little braces around the hole in the fenders for good measure.





And I also fabbed up a hinge for the seat. It was mounted without a hinge before but we need to be able to get to the fuel tank to fill it, so I figured I'd make a decently heavy one.





So I'm glad to have that done, but there's only one problem.It wont start. It will fire when I pour a bit of carb down the carb throat, but otherwise, nothing. So I figure it's not pulling fuel but I'm not sure why. Maybe I'll try a different carb on it and hope it has a better pump, cuz this one might be weak. We'll have to see I guess.

Looks good, probably a lot safer back there than on the hood.

Yeah hahaha, glad to have it off there. Anyway I tried a carb with a rebuilt fuel pump on the engine and it still did not fix the problem. I tried pretty much everything but it didn't even try and fire. So I started looking at my fuel line routing... aaaand the P.T.O. tensioner/engager pulley was crushing the fuel line hahaha. Once I re-routed around the pulley and it fired right up and ran great! Haha, had to be the last thing I checked, oh well. Now the fuel tank re-location is officially complete!

Yay, got to love those fuel line kinks. Reminds me the first time i re-ran the fuel line on Red. I know the tank is under the dash, but there is that large hole for the steering shaft. Well my line hung down there and was being hit by the belt. It eventually put a hole in it and was spraying gas on the solenoid. LOL

Wow, haha good thing ya noticed that. I zip-tied the line in a few places underneath so hopefully it shouldn't get caught in anything.

Had the rear drag link ball joint off yesterday, so we replaced it with a nice heim joint.



Also decided to paint the engine tins on the ol' Ford today.





My brother liked the bare metal on blue look and I kinda dig it as well, so that's what we went with. Turned out pretty nice!

Looks good! Need to hit that bare metal with some clearcoat or it will be rusting in no time. :-) Unless you like rust!

Yeah I thought the same thing, but we have to pick some up yet haha. Definitely dont want the rust to cover up that sweet bare metal look hahaha!

Got a choke knob and cable installed on the Ford today, same one I got for the MTD but I didnt have to shorten it as much.

Also we've had some rain in the last little bit so we got to take the little Ford in the mud a bit.







Also I had to post a better picture of that sweet paint scheme on the engine tins. Hahaha.

Looking good. Man, I wish I had one of those choke levers like that on my oppy's. I really dislike how my choke cable runs in from the font.

Thanks mighty. It is nice having that lever because you can run the cable along the front of the blower shroud.

Looking good! Of the 3 vertical oppys I have, I think only one has that style choke. It was on the original oppy on mutt, I actually put it on the new oppy I put on her because I liked it so much.

Thanks Rich! Yeah I like this setup with the linkage better than just having the choke lever.

I'm jealous. Of the 5 oppies I have. None have that lever.

I got some shocks from the shop today, should work nicely on the little Ford.



They were pretty rusty obviously, but thats why we have wire wheels! Hahaha

They look better now after a bit of clean-up.
Probably gonna paint 'em True Blue and leave the plastic dust covers that way they are. Should look alright.





They're exatcly 19 1/2" from the end of the stud to the bottom of the fork, should be perfect! Hopefully more to come soon!
