I got some better radius arms made up today. Well technically I modified the old ones. I pretty much just wanted them to be stronger and have adjustable ends.

This is a cool looking tractor with the blue paint, blue tins on the oppy, and those big shocks next to the grille.  Thanks for updating this.  I'd like to see more future updates.

Looks good. Does the axle still have a pin through it? If you still have a pin you could remove that and make one more arm across the front from the axle to the frame and you'd have some travel.

Thanks mr.modified! Well tchnically because of the Twin I-Beam it has two pivot pins:





I don't expect it to have too much travel because it's an independent setup, but it's cool to try and flex it nontheless, haha.

Well, I blew the dust off the ol' Ford and got 'er our and about today. Before I even got  it running I decided to tackle the new belt and pulley setup.

Didn't take many picture so sorry about that, haha, but I put a much larger engine pulley on it, changed the flat clutch idler to accammodate, and made a new idler for the rear.

A mock-up of the front setup:



And the rear idler and bracket.



Actually worked perfectly! I didn't get a top speed reading yet but it's substantially faster now. I'll try and get some better pictures of it all tomorrow too, haha.

Next thing I did was make a couple of limit straps for the front end to stop the beams from dropping too far.

I figured roller chain would look cool, haha. So here's one made up:



The upper bracket for that side:



The nut and bolt allow for some adjustment, I'll probably put jam nuts on them too at some point.



The lower connection point is just a bolt welded to the axle:



One side all done!



Other side now:





All done! Works great! Now the front end can be lifted off the ground and the beams stay put instead of dropping all the way down.





Felt good to take this ol' girl off-road again, haha.

Roller chain for limit straps= Cool!!

Hahaha, thanks prancstaman! I think you mentioned chain as limit straps in the MTD thread one time actually, haha. It definitely does look kinda neat.

I got the 2/0 chain for limit straps on all 4 A-frames on the Scorpion. I made it to where I can change the ride heights on all 4 A-frames by just unbolting the top and choose a different link.

Interesting haha but if it works why not.

Well thanks alot Matt! I not sure about the sizes, I should probabltly measure them, haha. The rear one is still stock though, so it's nothing crazy.

Got a couple pictures of the belt setup. Kinda hard to get under there and get good pictures, but still. Haha.







Again it's nothing really crazy, but it's still super fun. Haha

Made up a simple foot throttle for it too, makes it much nicer to drive!



Took 'er for a test romp with the foot throttle, haha. Definitely have some belt slippage but I should be able to solve that fairly easy.
