| It might be ok if the transaxle has bearings installed, either internally or externally. Otherwise it would probably be pretty hard on the trans. Head Forum Administrator ** Chat Moderator ** Facebook Page AdminATLTF Facebook Page ** Chatbox ** How To Upload Pictures

| Well, how is it locked? The doc locker IMO is the "best" way, though not the easiest. Fozzy is definitely easiest, but I feel like thats hard on the gears. Maine Mud Mower filled the whole diff with molten zinc. And @Fearlessfront welded the spider gears to the shaft (the free spinning ones that share the shaft in the bull gear). In order of strength (IMO): 1. Doc Locker 2. Solid zinc casting 3. Welding the spider gears to the pin 4. Fozzy locker 1 or 2 would be fine with those big tires, and number 3 would be ok if you're certain you got a good hot weld. But I wouldn't try it if you just fozzy locked it. | |

| I weld the spiders to the pin and I use a stick welder for better penatration with hardedned rods | |

| Fozzy lock works great from my experience. Less stress on the gears than welding the gears to the pin. Remember, these gears are sintered steel. In a Fozzy lock, the teeth are just stopped from rotating, where in a pin lock everything is trying to twist the gears off that pin. A lot more force is being applied that way.
