| If you mean the ones that just have a bolt/spindle welded on the end of the tube, I would unbolt the wheel first. Have the frame of the go kart up on a block of wood or something. Put a piece of pipe over the axle and bend it back where it needs to go. Just go EEEEEASY on it and keep checking it as you go. Just a little at a time because it's easy to go too far with that stuff. If you have to heat it up a little you could, but you shouldn't need to. If you do heat it, be careful, if it's red hot it will bend real easy with a pipe on it. If you think it needs some extra bracing afterwards and you have a welder, you can weld a piece of flat steel along the side of where it was bent or whatever, but might not be needed. | |

| Thanks very much it's only one wheel drive but I don't think that matters and I will try your suggestion and let you know if it works | |

| Axles are a pain to straighten. Since its tubed, maybe get a solid shaft, round one end and pound it through? Head Forum Administrator ** Chat Moderator ** Facebook Page AdminATLTF Facebook Page ** Chatbox ** How To Upload Pictures

| That's a good predicament. Jumping much? :-) I had this long typed up response, and got interrupted. Came back and Mr.Modified had an almost verbatim response. Had to edit. Something I have tried. Chain the ends, put a floor jack between the chain and frame and slowly jack it up to bend the ends back down. Be careful. | |

| Nice! Are sure it's perfectly straight? If it's a tiny bit off being true it will wear bearings/bushing away quickly. | |

| Sounds like that isnt much of a concern lol. If I had a 1WD and an axle bent, id be swapping to a solid axle. Head Forum Administrator ** Chat Moderator ** Facebook Page AdminATLTF Facebook Page ** Chatbox ** How To Upload Pictures

| Well it doesn't really matter if it's straight because it needs a drive wheel and all the wheel bearings replaced | |

| Yeah, straight axle is better in the long term. I have a tiny 35cc go kart sitting about with a 'half-axle' as I call it, and I'm gonna do a straight axle on it sometime for my sister to drive. | |

| The go kart I used to have was one wheel drive too. Suggestion on chain tightening... On mine the gear on the wheel was slightly off center from the factory. When you rolled the wheel over, it would get tight and then loose. I think the best thing to do is put your chain on, then roll it to where you think the tight spot is, snug the chain up there. If you adjust the chain snug when it is in the "low spot" then of course when it turns it will be too tight in the "tight spot". On mine it usually didn't fall off and I just left it slightly loose. As long as most of the slack is out when it's on the high spot, that's about all you can do. Good to hear you got it bent back though! | |

| I know but this is pretty much just a temporary fix because the back end needs rebuilt and he isn't gonna like the price of that | |
