| All right.... last piece of this puzzle is in. Now to start putting it all together and get it done. I will be doing this at a slow pace. Don't want to mess up the locker. That can be a costly mistake. | |

| Well... I went out on a limb and purchased a press for a regular drill just to try and have handy if it worked ok. Mounted to my bench I started thinking I need to start working on that 820 again and I also need to finish the repairs to Kal. Yep... I did what you are thinking. I screwed the hubs (one at a time) to the bench through the base of the press and gave it a whirl increasing the inner holes from 7/8 to 1". To my surprise, it was rather easy and I could make the drill speed variable with my other hand and drilled out the hubs. It was super simple and I just took my time. Even at that my bit just cut through the hub no harder than cutting wood. I was shocked. Once drilled out I slid the 2 halves onto the axle and they are snug as a bug, but can slide down it. No play at all. I spun them around a few times and I do believe they are true to center as well, no offset bunders. Now to find some 3/4 square stock and finish the center hub. | |

| Nice job! It's a good thing peerless didn't harden those sides like they did the bullgear. And btw, cast iron shouldn't need any lube as it by nature has graphite nodules in it. I think the only lubrication recommended for cast iron is lard or some kind of animal fat. Either way, you got it drilled out lol. | |

| Yeah... I am currently trying to find 0.75" square rod of any kind at this time. I haven't looked hard yet. I may have to do what Doc did and cut up a hitch, but that would be some $$$ metal to scavenge when I have seen it cheaper by the yard. That and the garage is a bit cold right now and my roller work space has opposed engine #3 on it. I may try to get that thing running this week. Possibly today. | |

| Yeah, I may have to order it up online. I was going to check a couple other sources first, but I just haven't got around to it yet. LOL
I'll probably kick into gear with this thing (Li'l Red) next month I hope. I plan on getting it the most "Haspin Ready" that I can get it. Same with Kal.

| Is it ever going to warm up? Ugh.... hate cold garage. 820 is still in pieces on the work bench waiting for me to make the hub. Looking at the next 10 days, no warm relief in sight. Bah... In other news, the 85 hood will go back on Li'l Red. It's waiting for me to install the 820 to go on. | |

I actually like both, but you are right. It does give it a unique character. Kind of an Old School Widebody. - SebastianAlbrecht wrote:

| Looks like I will have some extended free time next weekend, I have all parts needed to finish this but 1 thing. Wheel hubs. I figure I have a few options.
- Use the 820's wheels and get bigger new tires (12 inch wheels)
- Buy wheels and hubs or Make some wheel/hubs, use existing tires (8 inch wheels)
- Buy/Make some wheel hubs and get bigger new tires (12 inch wheels)
Option 1 or 2 would be the cheapest. Although my tires are starting to get a little worn, I think I can get some 4on4 or 5on4.5 hubs and wheels fairly reasonable and reuse the tires. Option 1 and 3 causes new issues. For one, my front 16x6.5x8 tires will look super small against a 12 inch wheel tire. They already look smaller than they should and I kind of like the lower 22" tires on the rear. Decisions... decisions.... as far as mounting, it looks to be a direct bolt up. My 820 even has the long shifter shaft.

They should do fine on the Live Axle that will go in the 820! It was a no brainer. I hope to have the 820 in the tractor this weekend. I'll need to make a front side brace for the trans, but that should be easy enough. The rest will just bolt up.
