yeah mathewd this was my first and probably my last one, and thanks mightraze!
well ladies and gents we have about 27 more days until build off ends and we have a running project "Drift Missile" (and i just noticed now that missile is missing the I in my post title!) BUT
after some cranking and no firing for the vangaurd i figured out the carb was all crusty dusty. so i put a good clean one on and she fired right up, but was running like garbage on one cylinder and making some noise, i pulled the valve cover on the non firing cylinder and turns out TWO HEAD BOLTS WERE MISSING AND THE PUSHRODS WERE JUST LAYING IN THERE, i really really need to quit buying stuff without seeing it work. long story short we put some head bolts in and clearaned the valves and she now purrs like a pissed off kitty
we got a new intake make up for the different intake design we made a bracket for the kill switch to hold it in place started some body modifications and ran out of wire
we still need a fuel tank strap, the seat mounted, disassembly cleaning up, paint, stickers, and small little touches!

the 16 hp is 479cc, and the 28ci singles we know and love are 458. I can't find a 14 horse in their current lineup. couldn't be too much different, maybe just a carb

My goal with this build was to build something really cheap and easily done, and i think i accomplished that. most of the parts i already had, I got the mower for free, I had the motor, the wheels and tires, the metal. i had to buy the engine pulley, brake caliper, and the belt, and the paint. all totaled up that is a little over 100$. now if you had to go out and buy everything yes it would be more expensive, you don't need Douglass aluminum wheels or a v twin, I am more than pleased with the build and hope that you guys enjoy it just as much
its a dynamark style mower we will start off with the power plant
briggs and stratton 14hp vanguard V-twin un-governed with a 7.25 inch pulley u peerless 600 series locked trans axle with a 3.5 inch pulley(stock height) front end is a custom rig, basic gokart axle approximate 10* camber/caster/kingpin in running on 6 inch aluminum douglass wheels wrapped in hoosier go kart slicks(rear 10in pvc) frame is reinforced with 2 lengths of 3/4 square tubing and a couple gussets dual piston single caliper hydraulic brakes with 8 inch rotor panda shift knob brass knuckle e brake pokeball drift charm rear fender wrapped in a naruto comic
in conclusion this thing is bad a$$, im definitely shooting for more power in the future whether it be bigger motor or built bigger motor. No i was not able to drift without the sleeves like i wanted to, but i think its because of the hoosier slicks, i was able to do donuts with one of my previous racers on dry pavement and they had 16 inch turf tires, i think the compound is just wayyy to soft and sticky. Im gonna shoot to get another set or smaller turf tires and see what can be accomplished, i hope you guys enjoy this build as much as i do and dont forget to subscribe to the youtube channel, GOOD LUCK!
