| Well... I havnt touched this stuff for a while... Ill get to it sooner or later.... and some of you silly people thought I should enter the buildoff, at this rate itll take years! Anywho, I was asked to take a look at this Cub Cadet tiller. For whatever reason, the axle didn't turn. What a mess... found the drive chain was buggard up. Ran my good fingers through the slop and found some chunks, I hope are bits of chain. Seems its all gona need cleaned off to be sure these no chuck still in there... oog. Oh, and I do not recommend smashing your fingers. 1, it hurts. 2, it hurts alot. 3, its frigen gross when the nail falls off, or when you have to pull it off... https://i.servimg.com/u/f58/18/34/73/21/img_3713.jpg | |

| Ouch. I closed my middle finger in a garage door one time, needless to say it hurt all at once. My nail fell off but a new one grew back, it's the only one that's not factory original hahaha. | Thats #2 for me... started with a thumb a couple years ago. I decided I wasnt going to do that again then... then there I went again! I dunno what it is, closer to grease I think. This thing sucked getting it apart, had to pretty much dissasemble the whole thing just to look inside. It wasnt built for this. Infact, most things arnt made to work on anymore... just throw it out! Buiy a new one! Then curse and swear when it breaks in a couple years... then start the process all over again! I think Im gona get a big piece of cardboard, and a couple buckets of sawdust when I clean this thing out with kerosene or something. The sawdust should soak most of it up. Good fire starter... | |

| Ha. The rear axle was a 3/8 square head carriage bolt that was bent in 2 places... the wheel would turn, but was crooked and the chain would bind. Im gona see about upening the axle to 1/2in | |

| Im going to try to get it in decent rolling condition... this mostly involves new bearings and axles. I did stick a 8hp honda in the frame to see what it would look, and fit like. It will fit if I raise it up 1in, and move it forward slightly the rear tire wont touch it. | |

| Well... I did try to stick an 11hp briggs flatty in there it was too tall... but I did stick a 13hp Honda in there... Neither of the hondas run as they both need carbs and the 13 need rebuilt... But its a fun thought! This has the potential to be a wheelie machine. | |

| ha. It might be a while before this thing has an engine and moves under its own power. So untill then... here some pictures of engines in the frame. 8hp honda. Mainly need new crank seal gasket, carb and exhaust. 13hp Honda. Needs rebuilt, carb and whatnot. These hondas are a bit too wide for the frame. Couldnt hardly use the foot pegs... and sinse I have no desire to move them, these engines are out. 5hp briggs. This barely fits. 6hp briggs. No plug in this engine, will not fit with a plug. 11hp briggs. Seems like a good fit. | |

| put a 2x6 across the two bottom rails, insert bottle jack, jack it till there is room for whatever you want it's called an "on the fly redesign" AKA "a hammer fit problem" | |

| I did think about sticking the high lift jack in there... Problem with them big blocks they are wide. I dont want to do too much modifying, aside from a new engine mounting plate and opening up the axle slots for 1/2in. This 5hp briggs flatty looks at home in there at any rate... | |

I agree with prancstaman, It looks like it belongs. Also, it gives you room to do any modifications if you want.

Im not sure I understand. Why would one be better than the other? I mean, for a stock engine. Obviously the black on is missing some key parts. I lost the bolts that bolt the carb to the tank for the black one. It didnt fit too well with the tank on so I took it off. You guys are right, it does look good in there. I think it will look good leaning slightly forward too. This will be a good candidate to remove the gov, and slap a mikuni on there. ..im thinking too far ahead here... I just need to make it roll for now.

| It looks like the black 5 hp engine is shorter then the red 5 hp engine, when they was in the frame. Are they both the same height when put next to each other?
