- Holy smokes, that things huge! How much do you think it weighs? What id do is run the stock grill, and get a big sheet of sheet metal and bend it up/cut it up around the engine so it pokes through, and you wont be cutting the stock hood up. Ive sold stock hoods before for a little bit too.
Yea Its very big and its only 7.5hp! Im guessing it weighs about 150+lbs but I think im just gonna cut the hood and put a hood scoop over the hole so it looks good it will save me the time

| The engine. I need a small diesel with electric start to run two alternators and on occasion an air compressor. That one might be kind of big, not sure. It needs to fit into a 30" diameter tube with at least some extra space to get it in and out. I've heard of that lombardini name. I was going to use one of those yanmar clones like fearless front used for his tractor. I'll have to look around I guess. Small diesels are expensive. | |

yes this engine is great it starts and runs well its 7.5 hp so should be good for your project I happened to have one of these arrow boards because my family owns a construction company but you can pic up one of these engines for $375 on ebay its alot cheaper then the 10hp clones but bigger and most of them have oil sumps

| Just a little update on the tractor and the engine. About 2 weeks ago we found out the starter was good and just needed to be regrounded. Then we painted the starter flat black changed the oil and oil filter so we dont have to worry about that later. As of right now the motor being bolted down to the tractor and we are seeing how it looks with the hood on. I should have some pictures tomorrow. | |

Im trying to figure out how it should go on the one I have, a ss16 I believe. No it was under the hood like the other sears suburbans are this one is a st16 not an ss16 the ss16's have the gas tank under the seat but if it did I would have moved it for lights and a rack but thats my opinion.

Thanks for the opinion I think I am still going to keep the stack though worst comes to worst I can Just take it off make a different exaust and put an intake snorkel where the hole was

Yea I think it will have a good ratio

| The diesel runs and drives! got the alternator wired and mounted rims painted and tires mounted bottom grill piece painted mounting plate cut finished clutch and both belts are on fully custom exhaust with custom exhaust support hood being fit right now along with hood scoop and a hood extension and bought some led pod lights and a 7in light bar This thing is really starting to come together and soon will be torn down for paint! | |
