1982 John Deere 108 Speed Demon Project

So I saw an old John Deere mower sitting in front of this house all summer and during the beginning of winter so me and my dad drove up to the house and asked the owner how much she wanted for it, she said 60$, we said 40$ and she said "take it I want it gone"
here are some pics the day i brought it home


So it happens to be a 1982 John Deere 108 with a 319cc 8hp B&S engine and ive got big plans for this machine
when I actually made some space to work on it I had to move it but it didn't run and the transmission had 2 holes so I used my offroad lawnmower and my lawnmower trailer to move it like a mexican (I'm mexican btw)

Now since I moved it to the garage Ive been making progress here's what ive done so far




Ive thought about holding off on doing anymore work on it so i could use it as my 2016 build off project which if i do that i'll probably just start getting parts and waiting for the build off to begin so i can proceed with this project.

Looks like a solid base to start with. Cant wait to see what becomes of it. Good luck on the build!

Thats a nice deere way back in the day i had a 130 john deere with a kawasaki engine it was a neat little tractor i pulled it apart and repainted it and got the mower deck going. then sold it a few months later. good luck on your build
