Alrighty, folks! The news you've been waiting for. Here it is...
Drum roll, please?
The powers that be have put their heads together (of course, torqued to spec and new gaskets used), and have decided that the ATLTF will indeed host a 2016 Build-Off! Woohoo! Turnout was good last year, and it was a lot of fun to watch.
Now- as always, we expect some questions and some folks may need clarification on a few things. Please refer to this following video, before posing a related question. It explains things pretty well:
Now- The entry instructions will also be pretty similar, and I explain those in this video here:
* NO, this year's entry password will NOT be the same as last year's.
Found the pics! So as long as I'm still alive by the end of the build off, I'll ship out this super high tech custom light bar/front bumper to either the 1st place winner or whoever depending on what other stuff you guys may come up with and how you want to do it. Free Shipping anywhere inside the continental U.S.......Otherwise if you live in spain or something for example, you happen to win the build off, and you still really want it, you'll have to pay shipping... At any rate, figure that out when we get there.
Designed to be mounted either on top of your hood or as a front bumper. Several mounting points allow for easy bolt on installation. I may include another bracket for mounting easier to the front of a flat grill, but it wouldn't be too hard to just make a couple brackets to fit whatever you want to mount it on.
Comes with three 4" LED lights. Super bright and with lower amp draw than conventional lights. Supposed to be waterproof....at least that's what it says. Optional light weight plastic mesh stone guard can be removed if that's not the look your into.
Pretty much the same tubing as the baja sears front bumper only not as massive. Super nifty cooling fins on the back of the lights. I might include a dash switch also.
Thanks, I figured three lights would be good enough. If your using a stock charging coil they don't put out that much, especially at idle. Pretty much any stock system should handle these ok.
Whoever wins it will be lucky. I so gotta dig all my stuff out for buildoff. I have stuff ordered, stuff in the field, garage, shed, etc I have a really cool idea for rims. Hope they come out as planned.

Isn't it funny when you don't want something to happen, it happens quickly and when you are waiting for something to happen it takes forever? Come on the 1st haha!!!

I know the feeling! The other downer is that the first is a Monday so, although we can start, realistically most people can't do anything until the following weekend. Boo! I collected the bodywork for a future project tonight. Very much a fun project but I'm keeping it very much top secret at the mo. It may be a second entry once the first is finished. I'm setting my own finishing date for project 1 as I want it to be ready for the VW White noise show in August.

Ya, the start date sort of sucks, but it isnt to bad for me as my exam week is this week (i only had one exam ) and the turnaround days are monday and tuesday. I really cant do anything though, as i am painting the mower right and have to wait to get some paint and a warm spot to do it.
