| Not sure what I will make. I have a MTD Bolens frame and chassis that is identical to rarbaugh07's. I was thinking either flip it for a profit, make a dirt-track race mower from it, or make a crawler like rarbaugh07's. I think I might make the crawler. Not 100% sure. I think I may have most of the parts to pull off the crawler except the steel and driveshafts to make the driveline and suspension. | |

| If someone made something interesting that still cuts grass, that would be pretty neat. Not going to be me though, I've kind of bagged my steel wheeled tractor replica idea for something a little faster and simpler... | |

| So I Guess it is not possible to enter with something that already runs, but not got finished this year, then? My first "tractor-kart" build is still ongoing slowly,I am currently building the exaust, and I still have much other details to finish off. The engine is a 5,5 b&s coupled to a murray snowblower gearbox, running a atv aksel. The rest is homemade. I also have 3 other riders to work with, and a few other projekts. I live and work in Norway. Please take a look at my YouTube channel"drunken metalworker" and subskribe if you like it. I am new to this forum and I love it.Best regards, Tigattac aka drunken metalworker aka Helge | |

According to the rules, a project MUST be less than 50% complete as of the entry date. When you attempt to enter, your submission will be reviewed and either qualified or rejected. Welcome to ATLTF! We have another member, Thunderdivine who is also in Norway and has a YT channel with the same name. Awesome work! | |

| So, verification of the rules which state no "space frames" or tube/cage frame. Let's say I make the frame something like this picture out of box steel/square tubing with independent front suspention. Would it still be acceptable to use a tubing structure, either square tubing or round, to hold the shocks and brace the thinner front section between the A-arms. Basicly, I don't think this would end up more than 6-8 inches above the frame rails. Also, some tubing structure might be used in the rear to hold up the seat. This would give a tube frame appearance, (or just a race car type look) without a triangulated structure actually doing the work of holding up the machine. In other words, there would be no connection between front and rear structures above the main frame, except maybe some light body work. I was guessing this would be ok since it isn't part of the frame really, but just for the sake of conversation blah blah...Anyway, what do you guys think? | |

| I was originally thinking of making the whole thing tubing, but it might be a lot easier to mount everything with the frame being square (flat surfaces). I'm thinking of using a lot of aluminum. Maybe even aluminum square sections between the frame rails to mount the engine and trans on. Unfortunately, I don't have anything to weld aluminum with, or I could make the whole frame out of it. | |

| I have had a long-standing want to build things out of aluminum. The problem that i have is that i'd have to invest in an appropriate sheilding gas, the wire, and should have a spool gun too. I'd have to lay out a fair chunk of change, for what? Just to try it? I'm too cheap for that. Lol | |

| Yeah, kind of a pricey setup. I figured I could weld up scatter shields, skid plates, engine blocks, aluminum gas tanks maybe. The other thing is the aluminum itself is kind of expensive if your going to use a lot of it. I suppose mostly I'd be working with used stuff anyway. | |
