| lol yeah I couldn't stand having to operate a manual clutch on something like this. I like being in control with BOTH my hands on the bars. I will have to see about the fenders.. I know where I can get a front one, but the motor and drive is in the way for rear fenders. I'll see what I can do. And yes, I was 100% completely dry blasting through slush at 20+ mph with no fenders. Thank goodness for Carhartt Jackets and Bibs! *sarcasm, I still got soaked!*

| Looking pretty good. I had a centrifugal clutch sheer the key off on a go kart once. When I took it off to replace it, it had a bunch of stress cracks in it. Any ideas on what you want to do with the exhaust? | |

| Probably just a pipe. If I want to be fancy I may get one of those small cylinder type lawn mower mufflers and take the baffles out and make a sort of cherry bomb or glass pack. I got tons of footage today of me riding my trike. All I took was my helmet and GoPro, so helmet mount it was. I only fell off/ flipped/ wrecked it three times.... LOL
I'm working on editing footage now. First I will put up shots of the wrecks then I will put up the majority of the ride around.

Yeah she sounds pretty cool. I just can't stand that exhaust though, its TOO close to the seat... Gets pretty toasty...

| I was getting frame flex behind the seat. Never did put gussets in. After welding my frame back together I made a fantypant bracket that goes from the top of the motor to the seat uppy downy adjustment bolt. Barely any frame flex now. And with my new clutch that I just got today, she drifts on wet grass liek a dream! | |

| UPDATE I had broke my wheelie bar once when I was riding it this winter. I pretty much welded a nut to a piece of 1x1 box tube which welded to the full-frame support thing that actually serves no purpose. I broke the nut off so I welded it back on and I welded the nut off a little bit and the wheel wouldn't turn.
At the time I had no idea that the wheel was locked up, so I went riding and doing wheelies and stuff like I usually do (did). I had no idea about this until my little sister pointed out to me that the wheel was dragging on the ground. So, I stopped and looked. Here, I apparently snapped the 1x1 box tube in half, So i cut it the rest of the way off and kept riding just remembering not to do wheelies.
I recently started looking at this again and starting to redesign my wheelie bar. I was thinking about making a 2x1 piece of box tube (two 1x1's welded together) come out from the frame and have two small pressure-washer wheels bolt on to it. I like having two wheels over one because it is more stable. I also want bigger wheels (preferably pneumatic tires) so they roll easier on grass and dirt. I was also planning on welding a big L-piece over the wheels so I can do stand up wheelies lol.
No pictures... Sorry...

| Well, drop everything. TV2 is on it's way. That's right folks.. Trike V2! Getting an old BMX frame from the kid that I wrecked with. Also want to redo the wheelie bar thing now too. I will most likely use the same setup (motor, tank, twist throttle, etc) with just a new frame.
The frame on this is shot.. I mean COMPLETELY shot. I counted five different cracks (two that I welded then re-cracked). And I also noticed that my rear axle is welded on a little bit crooked.
I guess I can just say that this was my prototype. Now I will learn from my mistakes and make one right.

| I guess I could. Probably will wait till it is all done then put everything into one post.
Hopefully everything will go smoothly. I wanted to run a 3/4" axle with a bearing case like I did in TV1, but I was wondering if I should step it up to one inch.

| Didn't go tooo in depth last post because I posted that from my phone.
I think it would be nice to run a 1" axle, but I think it will be a little bit overkill for the size and weight of the frame. Besides, it's not like I will be jumping it. My trike is just something for me to rip around the back roads and some very mild trails (another reason it needs to be geared down).
1" axles are more common I guess because I can't find anything for 3/4" axles floating around anywhere.
Should be getting my bike frame sometime soon. Buddy didn't get the chance to drop it off last weekend.
What do you guys think? No pressure or anything but I'm sorta on the line about the 3/4 or 1" so I'm leaving it up to you guys.

| Yeah I'm going 1" axle. Seems how I already have the flanges, bearings, and axles. All I will need would be the hubs (and matching rims), sprocket, and brake. Went up to my buddies to work on my quad and we were checking it out. Was a green "Next" brand BMX bike with suspension front forks. Buddies brother painted it flat black. We think the front rim is messed up. The rest of it seemed good in condition.
Keep saying how I will get it. Just haven't got the time to stop by with the truck and pick it up.
Thinking 11" or 13" slicks on back with low gearing for donuts and stuff. Also thinking about a drum or disk brake for the rear axle.
Let me know what you think!

| Got a dilemma, I priced out everything I would need to get my trike going driveline wise. It comes out to $284.**. Now my problem is, that I can buy a kit on BMI Karts, with everything I need except the 1" rear axle and flange bearings (already have them), for $310.00.
So, should I buy the kit and sell my axle or should I just buy what I need. I priced out an axle and bearings on BMI for about 30 dollars, when the axle on the kit seems to be about 25 dollars. Not 100% sure what to do.
Gimme some feedback on what you think I should do!

| Got all my rear end parts ordered from BMI, should be here soon (all $230 worth). Bike frame is ready to be stripped, and cut up as soon as my parts come in. I just hope this frame holds up. I have toyed around with the idea of making my own bike frame with thick walled steel tube, but I figure that would get pretty expensive (considering what I just dumped into it). I am just going to brace the living crap out of this frame, and hope it holds together.
Still trying to figure out how to post pictures from my new phone so bear with me...

| Still having some problems. That is still how it sits. The farthest I have gotten is tacking the motor mount plate on. As you can see I made some pie-cuts in the frame so the motor sits more level. I can't really do anything now because I'm not allowed to lift anything or do anything because my leg is still healing from my recent surgery (plate got taken out). So mid-august I should get back to building this. I have all the materials just need to put it all together. I want to make sure I build this one right so I don't have to make yet another one. | |

| Soon ready for a test ride? About time... Scouring the interwebs for some cheap "wet track" gokart tires in the size of 11-13x6-6. Might just run some lawn tractor front tires like last time, idk yet. Bearing mounts burned in, and motor mount is burned in with addition of brace to front of the frame. Just need to figure something out for back brakes and we are ready to roll. Also plan on making a spring loaded chain tensioner now that I have more room on my frame to work with. Also started sanding down parts of the frame, for two reasons mostly. Mainly because I am still welding stuff on it, and also because paint is just down the road on the way to being finished.
That's about all for now. Any ideas?

| Are you running an axle with a keyway in it? Could make something to slide on a drum and just use a band brake. Or if you wanted to go vintage style, you could just make a scrub brake setup somehow. Couple of plates to push against the tires. | |

Already got that figured out. Running a 1" axle with keyway. I have a 6" brake disk with a floating caliper. I already got a rough idea on how I'm going to mount it. Just need to make a plate that runs down from the frame to the flanges, and weld the caliper mount on there. Probably just going to run the brakes up to levers on the bars instead of trying to figure out a pedal style rear brake like on a quad or dirtbike.
