| Hey guys I got a new project going some members might remember me others not lol it's been like a year ugh. Anyways I picked up a 83 Montgomery wards which share the same design as the wizards mtd ect. This one has the factory 5speed peerless witch is the main reason I bought it as I don't care for the variable speeds lol. Stuff I've done so far -Peerless Transaxle with bearings and seals. I've pulled and diss assy/cleaned/fozzy locked axle/added air vent with hose/sealed case with sealant/engine honey added as the lube/4" pulley shimed pinion for less up & down movement. -Built double pulley clutch along with linkage/relocated pedal to left side/rear and clutch pulley retainers. -Belly cover to protect belt/pulleys/linkages from sticks ect -Added pillow block bearing to steering column/added shim under gear for less play/upgraded steering linkage/right side spindle hole drilled for pin instead of retainer clip. - Old b&s 10hp flatty removed and replaced with 1990 b&s vanguard 14hp ohv with full oil pressure lub/4 1/2" front pulley
Lots more to do lol pics soon lol | |

| I've should of took more pics when I started but here's some and more to come. Not much customizing right now just upgrading and bettering the original stuff. When I first got it Belly pan install for clutch/belt protection. Double clutch better then original single Fozzy lock for the trans my first one ever cleaned it up with grinder went together good. Trans just back together with the pulley swap and lube added. My battery holder angle corners front and rear with rubber hold down. Bearing added to reinforce the steering column instead of the $hity plastic one. Added a better tie rod end to steering rod instead of the sloppy original 90degree bent metel one. Right spindle nothing big added shims & drilled hole for carter pin as I don't trust the original retainer ring Also got new oil and filter and carb cleaned today fired right up from sitting 5 years just need slight carb adj and new plug. Also got starter solenoid mounted. What's left befor test drive -adj carb -wiring -mount fuel tank -engine pulley belt retainers - bolt hood on | |

I'm not sure yet would like to have a set of sport quad rear tires as I want it for road/dirt/lawn/offroad. And my welder I love best welder I've had. I got it for a steal $50 one day I hope to get the regulator and tank for it other then that it's all set up for gas.

| I don't have a diagram as I built it off the top off my head. Steering shaft and tie rods were from a atv 2x3 box steel axle with bronze bushings and center pivot with 3/4 spindles from a snapper. I had to weld 2 arms on the drop frame to mount a bearing to to hold the bottom of steering shaft. Then cut and welded up my tie rods to size. It was. Direct steer setup.i might have pics. | |
