| So, in my other thread, I bought a decent sized air compressor. Maybe I should show what I built. 500 gallon propane tank, with two pumps on top. Those compressors feed an ancient 40 gallon compressor, that then fills the propane tank. 1in pipe feeds the air underground, from my carriage barn, into garage. For now, I only have one pump working, due to lack of 220v power in the barn. Takes about 2-3 hours to fill, then I can usually use it for a week or so, depending on what I am doing. Will run a large jack hammer for about 10 min, or an impact forever. Would like to build a windmill powered compressor, to keep tank topped off. Pic of tank when I got it home. Pumps mounted, tank painted, and pressure tested. Drain fitting installed on bottom. In barn 40 gallon compressor, used as a wet tank before air goes in big one. | |
