| Hey guys I got a 18.5 kohler magnum opposed that's been sitting in the garage for a while it came off a craftsman a while ago and hasn't run forever but still turns. I have been debating keeping it but I don't have any plans for it is it worth anything to anyone? | |

| I was kinda just wondering if it is worth anything I'm either going to use it for a monster mower or sell it/trade it for a diesel if I can get a good price/offer | |

| If you are looking to sell it, this thread should really be in classifieds. | |

| They're generally good engines, but many would rather avoid kohlers, as the parts tend to be pricier and harder to come by. | |

| ever wonder why you dont see many kohler opposed engines? for a few years they didnt torque down the crankshaft bolts to spec. they backed out and the rod got sent through the block. thats the 2nd reason people try to avoid kohler opposeds. even so, still not a bad engine. someone would sure as hell scoop it up | |

| are there any other starters that work with it? was going to use the mower as a camping gear hauler like a expedition truck but if the starter wont engage if the voltage drops that makes me leery >.> | |

| your starer may be different, my dad has a scotts with a 16 hp kohler that has a bendix drive like a briggs or tecumsea. when I broke this one he let me use that one and it bolted right up. does anyone want a 12.5 kawisaki? it has bad compression, and the kohler stile starter.................lol it is obvious that john deere had them copy kohler, same starter, same design, very similer. | |
