lifted craftsman flatbed truck

I am going to be building a lifted craftsman truck im going to make a new back half of the frame and put a pearless 820 tranny in it with a 12hp briggs its going to have a 6-8in lift with 25s on the back and 22s in the front the bed is going to tilt/dump.

its been a wile sense I've posted but I got some work done this weekend I got the frame mostly done and the axle in now it rolls on all 4s. al get better pics tomorrow when I roll it out side.

Too cool man. you could put two axles in there if you wanted to. Will this be like a mower tow truck? i dig it.

I don't think so much of a tow tuck just a good work tractor for hulling wood and parts and stuff

Looks heavy. How is the rear drive gonna be on that? You gonna stretch a belt all the way back?

Gonna be hard to get a belt that long.. prob better off making a few adjustable jackshafts and run smaller belts..

Bed sides and tailgate would be cool

still think you should move the rear axle up a little more, trucks dont have the axles all the way to the back

yeah i would move it up alittle bit but still it looks awesome   

The closer the rear axle is to the front axle, the tighter the turning radius will be. School buses are set up this way so the bus feels shorter when turning.

Got one of those all wheel steering rear-ends? That would help with the turning and you could leave it way back there.

This is why I'm moving the front axle rearward as well as putting the rear axle near center of the bed on The Red Fox

That way, even though the rig itself is twice as long, the WHEELBASE is only a foot or so longer than stock

I am going to move the rear axle up some and im going to make a jack shaft so I will run two belts cause that would be one long belt if I didn't lol

Expensive to buy, but it's all in the labor. Just sheet metal bent and bolted together with chain links.

looks promising, i think B440's idea would look good

that will be cool, but I would take the fenders off of the tractor and build something that doesn't have fenders with no tires. if you know what I mean.
