| Thanks. Just a couple more things here and I'll be good more or less. Just about to see if this thing will run on it's own. Fuel lines and wiring are good. I'll have some video on here in a few hours if all goes like it's supposed to. | |

| Thanks, yeah the test drive had to be kind of mild with the clutch not figured like it should be and the throttle will only open up about half way. Needs to be adjusted a little. Everything else seems to be ok more or less. | |

| The only thing really messed up with this thing is the stupid clutch. If I could figure out something that would work better, I'd be in good shape. Slack side of the belt is on the top, and there isn't much room between the belt and the frame. Even if my current clutch was on the slack side, I don't think it has enough movement. I don't have any guides on it yet either, but it's got to lay on there pretty loose to disengage. I can hold the clutch in while it's in gear and drag the wheel with the brake across the concrete floor. What would be nice is if you could have some sort of disk style clutch or something right on the transmission. Can't mess with the engine side with the alternator pulley there. Yes, the alternator turns backwards too, but it does put out voltage, so that's ok except the fan on it blows in the other direction. | |

| Ok, I couldn't get the thing to run and the float kept sticking and leaking fuel all over my nice exhaust paint. Cleaned the carb, fixed the leak. Turns out the plug was fouled up from running it rich tryin to get flames to shoot from the exhaust. Fixed that too. Now it runs again. I'm really not sure what to do with the clutch. I have a couple ideas, but there isn't much room to make a decent setup without messing up everything I already did. Repainting an area isn't a big deal, but I don't want to cut huge holes in the frame or move the alternator. Slack side of the belt is on the top, and there isn't much room between the frame and the belt. I do have some lettering to do at some point, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to mess it up in case I had to weld something for the new clutch. Fixed the throttle too. Now it opens the throttle up all the way in stead of just half. | |

| Well the yellow is just brushed on, so no big deal to fix a spot anyway. I want to see how fast it'll go with the gearing, so maybe I'll get it into high gear and go for a run down the driveway sometime soon. I'll get some footage eventually. | |

| I was going to do a little test running and get some footage, but any trucks we or anyone has are currently broke down. So the sears is stuck at the shop. Otherwise, not really any progress, on this project at least. | |

| Yeah, I finally got the mower home from the shop. So as soon as I get a chance, I'm going to get some video. Took it for a ride around and everything seems to work ok. Except the clutch of course. Slips under load, with the pulley on the wrong side of the belt, but it finally does disenguage some after the paint wore off the engine pulley and the belt got worn in a little. I'm going to try a stiffer clutch spring for now and see how it goes. Exhaust needs some window screen jammed inside to keep your ears in one piece though, but after the video maybe. | |

| I finally got this thing back out and started working on it again. This weekend I took the lower half of the exhaust pipe off and tried to quiet the thing down a little. Stuffed some window screen into the very back of the megaphone. Welded a couple of big washers in front of the screen to act as baffles and keep the screen in place. Then I cut out some perforated steel to fit across the end of the megaphone to further baffle the sound...(Ok and to look cool). Spray painted it back up again, I think it looks kind of neat that way. Next is to build a new clutch. I took the old one off. I think I can make one that works without cutting my frame up too bad. I guess we'll see. Tip the tractor on it's side and you can cook hot dogs on it. | |
