The "experts" will tell you that you need special fiberglass and have you buy their "special" fiberglass.  I use free insulation from remodeling houses and just pack it in there good.  They say the home insulation doesn't last as long, but I haven't noticed much difference as long as you pack it in pretty tight.
Isnt that what we live by here at atltf.com? if it Fits it Ships lol

He's right, you need belt retainers. Also a shorter belt or a larger clutch idler pulley since the belt looks too loose.

The belt retainers will help disengage the belt when the clutch is in, so it won't drag. It will make shifting easier. The belt retainers go as close to the pulley as possible without rubbing. They go on either sode of the pulley right where the belt comes into contact with the pulley. Usually about 180* opposite eachother.

So the retainers go on both pulleys right? And the picture shows the belt with the clutch on is it too loose there ?

Well, it does look like the belt is too loose, but it could be an optical illusion. If the clutch idler tightens up the belt and the tractor goes, then it's ok.

Here's a pic of my engine pulley. The belt retainers force the belt to "pucker" around the pulley when the clutch is actuated, so the belt lets go of the pulley. It will also help make sure the belt doesn't fall off the pulley.

HMM no i understand perfectly lol yeah i guess im confusing ppl to th epic i posted is wiht no tension on the belt no clutch engagement
lol if that clears up anything at all . well i tore the thing down again im motivated to make a double pulley clutch so ill be doing that and im gona change the ratio going to a 3.5 inch pulley on the tranny instead of a 5 inch its just been to sloow

I haven't looked into making a double idler clutch. My single works just fine... I guess it might be good to have a double if I were sinking it into mud past the belt or something, but no need as of yet.

Well, the single idler clutch probably isn't the problem keeping you from shifting into neutral. Fix that first...  Wink
