changed the front wheels and tires over to the 20x7-8's I had left over from the sandrail, upgraded front pulley on war machine to a 6" and rear to 6" to give a 1:1 again, changed seats, removed rear rack, fixed in-dash fuel tank, added new lights up front. Oh, and added an extended hitch and mudflaps.

* Need a little help. The mower runs smooth at idle. But as soon as you hit the gas it's like it boggs itself out. I don't understand what's going on. Could it be not enough spark? Or to much air? Or to must fuel? The carb was just cleaned not even a month ago. Thanks for the help.

Bad gasket. Its getting air past the carb. I had the same issue. Used rtv gasket instead of paper gasket. But u can use paper gasket.

What exactly is this "boost tube" thingy supposed to do for you?

You may well have an intake air leak, but don't overlook the possibility of crap in your carb. Just because you cleaned it a month ago, has no bearing on whether it is clean now.

This is a description directly from the website that I get mine from. I run a dual set up on my pocket bike and its a nice little boost.

As the engine (any engine) draws fuel and air in through the carb on the intake cycle, the spark plug fires this mixture forcing the piston down and sucks a small amount of air into the carburetor for the next intake cycle. As the piston and crank bottom’s out on the bottom of the cylinder, the piston begins to make its return upward. As this cycle is happening, the piston pushes air back through the carburetor naturally under pressure. This action creates a reverb effect and causes the air / fuel mix to become double rich as by now it is processed TWICE by your carbs fuel jets. Most commonly, this results in rough idle, hesitation, bogging, and the ever-so- frustrating: Sputtering at top end. The reason the sputtering and bogging is happening is because of the double rich mixture. Heavy exhaust smoke, heavy engine loading is often looked at as too much oil / fuel ratio, bad carburetor, etc. While this may be one of those problems, it often is not. Your engine is actually choking itself out with a bad fuel mix! The installation of our Boost Induction Systems™ Boost bottles eliminates this nagging problem. (Hence the location of the inlet) Our Patent Pending Internal Metering System™ Automatically adjusts itself to work with your engines compression and carburetor. Our bottles will eliminate the reverb caused by your pistons return to top dead center (TDC) and remove the double mix! Now, with the bottle installed, operators are now no longer fooled by the double rich mix. This now allows proper adjustability of the carburetor! Tired of sacrificing top end speed for low end? Or low end speed for high? That’s because you have either a double lean mix or a double rich mix. (Rich for high end, low for low end)You cannot have one or the other without a proper intake booster (Boost bottle). The bottles will provide a “Boost” or “Supercharge” effect. It will even out the double mix (either lean or rich) and allow your engine to idle 3–4 times smoother and decrease your engines vibration on your handle bars, motor mounts, and more! Once your boost bottle is mounted on your engine, please do not remove it. It will outlast the life of your engine and only operate better. It does not need to be refilled. Whether your application is a pocket bike, a hobby engine, scooter, or even a 4-stroke go-kart, we have the right kit for you!

And I'll look into the seals and the carb being gunnked up again.

PostSubject: Re: What have you done to your tractor today?   What have you done to your tractor today? - Page 12 Icon_minitimeAugust 31st 2013, 3:11 pm

That's... what I thought. That is a product designed for piston-ported two-strokes. Reed-valve, and rotary-valve 2-strokes, and all 4-stroke engines have valves that prevent the backwash that the product supposedly cures. So- while it looks cool, it's not actually doing anything for your mower engine...

To be honest, I'm not convinced the bottle even does anything on a piston-ported 2-stroke for which it is designed. Any "backwash" that may occur, will take the path of least resistance (as proven by simple, common physics). With a choice between a narrow tube and a bottle that may or may not be vented atmosperically, and a nice big carburetor venturi, it's not hard to imagine it shooting right out the carb every time.
