| I'm new to welding I actually haven't ever used my welder yet so I was wondering if anybody could give me a few tips what I really need to know is what wire speed and heat setting to put it on for of welding a piece of a tube steel bed frame to some angle iron by the way it's a Clarke Weld 130 en | |

| my clarke 130 en i run a 5 on wire speed and a c thats on anything around 3/16 thats just me tho. | |

| Greener is right - most materials weld better on a/c settings. Only thinner body panels and lightweight materials bond well with D/C welding current. Be sure if it's a double-clamp type welder to not invert the polarity - as in the positive clamp on the metal and weld with the ground lead... it'll work but probably destroy your welder. Other than that, best thing is to practice on material that doesn't matter... a piece of flat steel, practice making penetrating beads 1", then 3" then 6". if you can do that in a straight line with a consistent bead you're golden. |

| I went out and started using it and it fit wires through until it got to the gun and then it started binding up does anyone know how to fix this? | |
