That's funny as hell. I bought that carb off him! As we speak, it's sitting on General Mayhem's intake manifold. Jammy was kind enough to throw in a full rebuild kit. Good guy. Seriously- hella good guy.
I seriously hate to think you abandoned ship because of THAT.

TOO sensitive- this is why the engine was scrapped/parted out- ".the crankcase is cracked around the drain plug, the valves look like sheet, the bores are rough and not even round, and one piston looks like it's been hot enough to get soft/squishy."
Ain't too many people out there that would or could have done differently.
Good to know. I think I’ll go post in every old thread. OMG, what could be wrong with bringing an old thread to the surface? People learn from it... good. I always thought that is what forums are for. Plus, many searches don’t turn up what you are looking for. IMO, revive all you want.

I agree absolutely. Learning tools shouldn’t be kept under wraps and the forum is an example of this. I just wanted to let him know that under some eyes it may be frowned upon. Not mine, but I’ve seen some other places get pretty upset about it and I just wanted to to give warning.
Thank you again for your perspective, I hope that here and elsewhere that sort of thinking becomes the norm.

I know we have totally jacked this thread now, but I'll add. It only get annoying when people ask questions to those that haven't been on the forums for years. Heck, this thread is by an admin that hasn't logged into the site since Dec 1, 2019. Social networking I feel is missed out on. Then again, I don't think he expected his FB group to blow up like it did either.

Good guy. Great mind for ideas. I just miss some of the interaction with the people from 5+ years ago. I’ll probably go back and hidden quote all some of this conversation.

He had posted a thing for a fundraiser romp late this year, I messaged him to find out when and where (he's somewhere in Ontario) because I was considering going but he never got back to me. He used to be a force on DIYGK too but I didn't see any recent activity from him when I was frequenting the site in 2019. It's too bad, he seemed like a good and respected fella from what I gathered.
