Ford LT-75 Headlight option Empty
PostSubject: Ford LT-75 Headlight option   Ford LT-75 Headlight option Icon_minitimeApril 11th 2013, 1:06 pm

I am working on a Ford LT-75, and from the pictures on the web it looks like they had round headlights mounted to the hood and sticking out the side. Not a big fan of the look. (looks like a bug or something) When I was working on the front grille area, I noticed that it has 2 rectangle shaped knockouts, and mounting holes to the side. The opening is 2.5x3.5 inches with the screw holes 4.5 inches apart. Was there ever an option for headlights mounted in this location? I have been looking on ebay, but nobody has dimensions. I hope someone out here will know the answer.

What year is your tractor? I have a 73, with an 8 hp BS motor

I do know that the headlights were an option. I remember seeing holes in the side of my LT75, I'll take a look tonight what size they are and where.

I don't know what year it is. I've got the thing stripped to the frame, and have not seen any labels or such so far. The front clip/grill section was cut out on the sides to make room for the engine. I have since been trying to re-create the front grill section. The unit has spots for the headlight that mount on the side, but I would rather have them in the front so not to catch on stuff while off road. I did not know if they used the same grille section on other models with the square headlights. Then I would have a part number to go by or someplace to start. I may ultimately go with something else entirely.

On mine the numbers were scratched into a foil label on the frame by the front wheels. I had to use a strong light and magnifying glass to see them

I can get some pics of my grill and hood later today. The only ones I've seen with square headlights in the grill was the LGT series tractors, and they are a completely different beast.

There are a couple of pics here

I can't get itt outside to get any better pictures.

I took a look at it, and the only place I have to mount headlights would be the front hood mount bolts.

This is a 1970 model.
My 73 looks the same. except for the front bracket. Mine is set up for a blade. They were only made till 78 AFIK

This one is the same model roughly the same year, has the headlights, but they are mounted quite a ways below the front hood bolt. My lt doesn't have anything there

Does it have an original engine?

I think the headlights in the first picture is what I'm looking for. The Ford logo sticker that is inside the trim ring covers the knockout spots. The only reason I noticed it was the bolt holes where pushed through the sticker, and I had thought the guy before mounted fog lights there or something, but then noticed the knockout outlines. So the holes must have been factory. I will try to post a picture or 2. I have removed the trim ring for painting, and have cut the support under the gas tank to make room for the new bigger tank, so pay no mind to that. My tractor had the 2 blade looking thing protruding from the front and not the box thing like in the other link you sent me. But if you look closely, you may see the faint squares for the headlight knockouts, look for the bolt holes. They are just covered from the sticker in front.

I'll check mine for the indents behind the decals, my decals are in really good shape so I didn't see anything there.

If you have a pair of forks sticking out of the front it may be for a snow blade
