| What do you think. Would it be better to just beef up the stock steering or just make a direct steering set up? | |

| What type of tractor do you have? Craftsmans stock steering is great. MTD, not so much. It all depends. Head Forum Administrator ** Chat Moderator ** Facebook Page AdminATLTF Facebook Page ** Chatbox ** How To Upload Pictures

| It's a huskee. So if I remember correctly it made by mtd. Both of my linkages are bent though. The one from the 2 gears and the one connecting the 2 tires so I'm going to beef them up but I'm thinking just making direct steering if I'm going to spend the time doig that | |

| Your tie rod should be beefed up, ive bent mine on the Rally already. If you go direct steering thatll give you more opportunities to beef stuff up. Head Forum Administrator ** Chat Moderator ** Facebook Page AdminATLTF Facebook Page ** Chatbox ** How To Upload Pictures

| If you look up "sloppy steering" in the dictionary you will see a picture of my Craftsman LT1000. So I would def. change to all Heim's joint steering, you can even keep the "reduction gear in it" if you tighten it up. | |

If its made by mtd change it. My mtd steering is horrible. I can turn the wheel a third of the way freely without the wheels turning

A little bit but i dont think its enought to strip the gear. I can tight up the tie rods to make it more stifer and react quicker.

| I have a old old Murray and it has indestructible steering. Except it has a piece of ruber or cloth that connects the steering shaft to the main gear | |
