| Buy some short rubber bungee cords and take the hook out of one end of each. Run a bolt with washer through the open hole in the rubber and attach to the hood. Cut a slot somewhere on the body of the tractor, where you have to pull on the cords to hook the bungees.
Look at my build (in my sig) if you need a picture.

| Either that, or put a bolt through your dash and a small hole in the hood so when you close the hood, the bolt will pass through the hole. Then you can just put a wingnut on it.
As for strengthening it, you just need to get creative with some metal. 1/4" bar stock or some small pipe (like 1/2 OD) will work fine. Head Forum Administrator ** Chat Moderator ** Facebook Page AdminATLTF Facebook Page ** Chatbox ** How To Upload Pictures

Buy some cheap hood straps for a snowmobile, they work good

| Get some rubber washer and put them in all places where the hood would touch the body or chassis and put a bolt through it. The rubber washer will keep it from vibrating on metal to metal contact making it quieter. As far as making the hood stronger that's up to you | |

| get some cheap rubber fuel line, slit it (careful with the knife) and run it around the edges of the hood that make contact with the dash. also, cut a couple circular pieces and wedge them in the hood hinges between the hood and the chassis, like a washer. no noise... or far less... |
