lifted craftsman

so because its been raining for most of the past three weeks, i had no school today so i was out workin in the yard and got to thinkin bout my plans to build a lifted mower, been wanting to for a long time, so i went through the scrap pile and got what i needed and started on it, i got most of the front lift done,all i have to do is put in the supports and find a better front axle than the one i have, but i wont be able to work on it again till next week, cause i have to work till next week, im taking the 18 hp off the racing mower project and donating it to this build, im lookin for the foot boards to be about 24-30" inches off the ground, i have a set of 25x11.5x9s for the back and a set of 20x10x8s for the front. im still trying to figure out the steering tho and im planning on runnig two batteries in series like on our old diesel truck for more power cause im wanting head lights tail lights and i have a old cop spotlight for it and im trying to figure out how to mount a alternator on it and i have a plan for the electric clutch that was on it lets just say it will be a lil insurance for "when" i get stuck, not "if" also have a hand crank winch for it. im going to run a six in. pulley on the transaxle and the stock three in. on the front, i got to order a new starter for the motor this weekend after i get paid, then all i need is a coupler,and a 3/4 in. pillow block, and please all the advice from yall will help, i actually plan on tryin to finish this one, not like the other builds of mine in the past that i havent, the racer i decided to wait on because i dont really have anywhere to ride it. and the cub is just sitting there, everything ready to be bolted in place, but im scared to hook it up cause if the rearend is messed up that will cost an arm and a leg lol

well im still going to try to get the rest of the lift built this week, but after i got paid, the paid the bills i aint got enough to order the starter, and i found some old pulleys off something from along time a go that some one gave me with a high speed bearing in it, so ima make it work as my pillow block, should have it rolling around on all four this coming up week end, just have to get that starter,

well i got the front lift done and i dont have to worry about a starter immediantly cause i picked up a mtd with a 18 hp briggs opposed yesterday so hopefully i will get to testdrive next week lol

i paln on letting it pivot, but that might change when i ride it for the first time, i got one side of the back lift welded and ran out of wire, ima get some thiss weekend tho

well update, i just got done working on it tonight, i got the wire quicker than i thought i would thanks to my awesome girlfriend, she bought me some lol. i got the lift on the back done, goona do the lateral supports tommorrow, and some more bracing, will try and remember to get some wire, on a side note my wonderful girlfriend bought me a early birthday present this week, she bought me a mtd garden tractor lol, the deck is trash but it has a good running 18 opposed

lol i plan to, june will be three years that we been together, her dad has gave me 3 or 4 mowers they had laying around before, im amazed she can put up my my idiotic shenanigans lol

still got to extend the input shaft, fabricate shifter linkage, extend front spindles, and put the big tires on it, put motor on, and run exhaust

nice now just get the frame painted and all the stuff underneath and itll look real good. Im glad more people are starting to lift their

craftsmans. so i can get more ideas

I never did figure out how to do my shifter setup because my axle wasnt designed for my lawnmower but you should be able to figure it out

Make an extention for the shift lever on the trans, like the extension for the pulley. BTW looking good, now for some taller tires. This is the wife by mine. [url][/url]

i kow wherre some 35 micky thompsons are, and i can get all 4 for 50 with the rim, but ima save them for the one i want to build for show
